Watch BBC news today at the extraordinary claims at the amounts of birds been killed and nest destroyed , not a mention of the decimation off our song bird population , but i suppose there just not as magestic as these killers. I suppose this has come out at a time when it is said that these birds of prey should becoming of the endangered list as they are well populated . It's claimed that most birds were in the north and Scotish boarders , i suppose these game keepers are protecting there life stock and should be able to do so , as we should be able to .

R.P.R.A rules state that every bird clocked in deserves a velocity , even if not club rules -
it starts with one pigeon then the bug bites ya and your hooked its better than drugs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , you'l be racing in 5 years , if you can pm your address im sure i can put you in touch with a local club member that can help advise you regards sex of bird and what you need and perhaps get a friend for your new bird , but rember you need to get the original owner to transfer it to your name .

How to care for stray pidge! Help needed!
OLDYELLOW replied to oddy's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
firstly the owner has to collect or arrange collection of there birds , its a R.P.R.A rule , if they dont report them to the R.P.R.A , they will then arrange collection to them and send bird to the owner at the owners cost so will cost the owner twice as much. The pigeon will need a shelter from the eliments in a ventilated shed / loft , that is cat proof with a trap , this is so can control letting it out and in . A large aviary is not an ideal home for a pigeon all year round in U.K . As for what to build depend on what you have in mind , are you going to race or keep a few pigeons ? have a read of pigeon in my kitchen thread -

here goes and a good preventative measure , add a teaspoon of cinamon and a knode of grated root ginger and garlic and carrot juice in water once a month i aint had yb sickness for 8 years and you'l get shinny necks to boot as well ( even on your natural birds ). The other treatment is garden lime in a bucket of water and feed them the water from the top add the above ingredients as well.Yoghurt on the corn is good as well, 1/3of a pot of live natural yoghurt with a days feed add a citrus fruit and brewers yeast . Canker is the main cause to infection keep this down and you'l be half way to solving the battle.
