  1. think back problems are probably caused by years of scrapping same as kirky i blocked all bottom boxes off to save the back means a few less birds and makes you select alot more as most have said get a partner could always do a talk at your local school and you never know might be one lad that wants to take racing up without the cost of everything hope you get sorted
  2. yup and reasonably priced probably because not a in vogue strain but good honest pigeons that win
  3. Ian Axe had some of the best via Jack Roberts , i know from What Pete Bolton of Bridlington they both favoured the Irish mint ( or mist ) lines , both fanciers were buying them off the docks apparently when there were coming into the country and swapped pigeons Pete Bolton topped the Yorkshire Middle Route Federation with a grizzle about 10 year ago from Bourge just over 500 miles lovely family of birds

  10. you pay your money and take yer chances some birds will work for you some wont cheap doesnt mean inferior and the more expensive a bird is wont guarentee any success nor its quality , i hope it does you some good
  11. tony and ann mardon well known and very sucessfull fanciers there called tranquilty lofts , think last time i enquired had a 3 year waiting list , the likes of Beswick of Hunnamby and midgleys in our club have had winners via there birds

  13. mine is i suppose if my vets are trusted by defra and used for goverment testing they must be of the highest caliber , they've kept my birds right for years ok you have to observe your birds in order to keep on top of them but id rather spend my money on having a negative test than break down my birds immune system treating when not nessasary
  14. whiteknight asked to leave the site and as he has left it would be wrong to discuss him in his abscence this subject is now closed

Well petrol is what drives the economy and as long as petrol goes up the cost of everything else goes up clothes food and stuff , before long we'll be run my robots no work no manufacturing the skills this country had will be long gone i feel sorry for kids today and those struggling to keep there jobs , the employer wanting to drop wages for same work fer less pay , its certainly rip off britain , its about time our prices were same as our foreign counter parts Thanks to the bad investments in America were in melt down , yet these high flying failing bankers get bailed out by the goverments then get work bonuses for been failours , but at least they no different to the mps that claim back most of what they pay for in expenses coruption breeds corruption no matter who you vote for the goverment always get in different suits same agendas keep the poor poor and the rich get richer
  16. cant argue at a few pence for rings that in effect last the birds lifetime and if the price is too high then surely there wouldnt be so many sold each year
  17. you use something to accelerate the drying process , but even on damp days theres very little sun
  18. like clothes on a washing line it will keep dry if getting enough air flow
  19. just because its dark doesnt make it damp
  20. i must admit next loft i build will be more open and lighter but thats along way off
  21. this might help http://www.pigeonnetwork.com/articles/NigelCowood.html
  22. my lofts dark and my birds performing well but i must admit im putting a window in for more light / ventilation
  23. the point is this most over counter percriptions are weaker than what a vet could give you , yes i agree that both kevin winters and gary spavin may well be knowledgeable but they arent vets and some vets wont do the proper tests and give something broad spectrum when not neccesary , if a vets worth there salt most will be recommended by others
  24. as the topic says vets neither Kevin Winters nor Gary Spavin are vets , and you would need to visit a good avian vet to get pescription only medicines , most ailments are spectrum specific treat with the wrong thing you could be creating the ideal enviroment within the host bird for these ailments to get far worse , a good avian vet is worth there weight in gold
