Lovely day just finishing me cuppa then off to take birds down road , then another toss tomorrow then ill take them to first race point either Wednesday or Thursday to get a bit more time on the wing

most of ones using gerry plus use it all time sprint to middle distance , No matter what corn or brand you feed the important thing is to ensure you don't over feed , fat birds don't win races , keep then lean and mean below 400 miles 400 miles plus different story they need as much as they like , however i find fit birds wont each much , it's more a problem getting them to eat

Had two Hawked one missing full front of it's chest and large puncture wound completely plucked out , feathers are just starting to cover back up , other a hen came back missing half it's wing how it got back is beyond me and still flying on it !!!!! and there the ones that's made it home , tough little bundles of feathers that's for sure I have similar problems but with tv aerials , if too windy mine stay in

I'd imagine one or two pigeon men / women would apply for the job but they do tend to look for the old boys clubs , few years in do nowt nice salary golden hand shake and sail off in to the sunset however I think the post might not give every weekend spare for racing so an ex racer or a racer with a partner be good Would love to be here saying David Bills has done a cracking job promoting our sport and stuff ................ , Also think some radical changes would be good , everything's done democratically at club and fed level shame the union weren't as well , be nice to see the panels made up of top fed officials and most things voted on , rather than the same old thing of paying union fees and nothing changes or improves

GENERAL MANAGER ROYAL PIGEON RACING ASSOCIATION SALARY NEGOTIABLE PLUS PENSION AND COMPANY CAR The current General Manager is retiring in June. His successor will be an all round manager and administrator with proven experience in personnel and accountancy management, experience of servicing a committee, an ability to work on his/her own initiative, and a confident public speaker with experience of dealing with government and professional bodies. Knowledge of pigeon racing would be an advantage but an ability to relate to the members who come from all walks of life is essential. The successful applicant will need to be flexible with his/her outlook as the job may entail occasional weekend and evening work. The General Manager will be expected to maintain the public relation role and promoting the RPRA and pigeon racing in general. Job description, person specification and application form can be downloaded from www.rpra.org (then click on downloads tab) Or alternatively, application forms are available from the Royal Pigeon Racing Association, The Reddings, Nr. Cheltenham, Glos GL51 6RN Closing date for applications is 22 April 2011. Interviews will be held in Cheltenham on 5 May 2011. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will commence a working handover in late May and assume full responsibility by 30 June. All applications will be treated in strict confidence.
