i would agree owen but as a starter trying widowhood ain't it a good place to start as Dave wrote the book in such a way that a novice could understand i feel the methods in the book would give any new starter a strong base to work from then as time goes by changing it to suit the birds and fanicers needs its definitely worth a read

would agree with the above but please remember where the fancier is living location plays a big part where the winner is sometimes in my opinion the best bird may be down the list due to the fancier living in the wrong location jmo

i go by where the fancier is living i like to buy off a fancier in a bad position getting results i like to see a fancier getting up in the result when no one else in his area is in the result also must be racing a small to medium size team

my advice is very few boxes in stock loft take three rounds off each pair and test them fully too many stock birds is a hindrance

my advice on any type of buying is go to a small back garden fancier living in a bad location getting results follow this and u wont go to far wrong

here the one i cant get my head around goes a bit like this in the last 2 year we have bought in 100 or 150 direct from the best of mr mr X then u read further on down the advertisement about mr x flying he is a small team fancier with 8 to 10 pairs of stock a team of 30 to 40 young birds and a team of 12 or 16 widdowhood cocks question is how in the name of god did mr x breed so many birds to sell and race himself :-/
