Wiley Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 If you had to do a 5 minute presentation on Racing Pigeons to the general public, what would you like to fit into your 5 minutes, and what about the sport do you feel they would find most intriguing?
bullcock Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 I have done it at a work team building day I explained from hatching to the first race for a young bird, it went down really well with the audience.
Walter swanston Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 Start with how the news of the victory at Waterloo was received by the Rothschild banking group by carrier pigeon before the official news by horseback and ship and enabled the Rothschilds to secure an enormous financial coup which was the basis of their fortune..Speak of the contributions made by pigeons in both world wars.Finish by speaking of the enormous satisfaction derived by the back garden fancier.Hope this helps.

bullcock Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 I have done it at a work team building day I explained from hatching to the first race for a young bird, it went down really well with the audience.I also did it for primary school kids about 17 years ago, I took some birds along and put them in some show pens, the kids were studying birds as a project and after explaining the basics, I opened up a question and answers and this went really well and made my job easier. At the end we all went out into the play ground and I had a basket of birds and gave some of the pupils a bird each and they all liberated them, it was well received.

bullcock Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 Similar to what ive got to do it for bullcock, its a managers assessment, 5 minute presentation followed by 5 mins of taking questions from te floorYes, it can be stressful, I had the HR director in the audience, it was her that was running the session, but from the egg to the first race is a good visual for a non fancier, as one of the questions is how do we get them to fly home, thats what i chose, but it's up to you, 5 minutes isn't a long time, ( I was going liker a train) lol all the best what ever the topic you chose.
