early part of the season,yb.no maize until tuesday am. then pm. gerry plus with maize and a little hemp rest of the week..cold weather needs protein..no doubt there are many other menu,s. thats my starter for ten..

In your position with untrained/unraced yearlings I would be more inclined to feed to get home rather than feed for a sprint. Just don't send them with bulging crops, half measure AM on day of basketing will be enough.
