Our club members are having a really bad year ,the worse anyone can remember, that is last weeks race and this weeks coming race cancelled because nobody is ready to send because of ybs and bad tosses, last few days our birds are so scared they will not come out the loft, things were going well for us with some good training then last Friday on the training car we had the worse toss I have ever had in my time with pigeons, sent 31 the 30 miles to Uttoxeter, first bird back on time just before noon, hours before any more turned up and after one every couple of hours we had 9 home out of our 31,Saturday same scene one or two every few hours with the last bird we got dropping at 7pm which took us to 22 and we have never seen a feather of the other 9,all have phone rings on,other members who kept on training were getting it bad, secretary phoned us to say this weeks race was off and he had lost six the day before,if the birds are not ready for next weeks last shortish race of 106 miles then the week after they are at 126 and that will be the race we will have to aim for, lots of posts regarding bird losses this year and it seems to be this year is the worse for lots of fanciers, will we keep going next year ? of course we will but we do everything we can around home to help protect our birds :animatedpigeons:

22/31 thats good returns, animatedpigeons.gif

we must have different opinions then George of what is and what isn't good returns,I certainly don't think that 22/31 is particularly good returns :emoticon-0138-thinking:

To be honest we do not have a really bad problem with the old birds,we do get the sparra at the start of the season but that is not a problem but since moving down here this is the worse year by far with young birds in fact nobody can remember when nobody sent to the first two young bird races, our young birds are again starting to feel a bit safer at home as they are now flying freely and actually land on the loft whereas before they were landing in the deep valley between the farmhouse roofs where I assume they felt quite safe but training will begin again on Sunday and we will take it from there.

Shocking state of affairs , only one thing that's causing it Percy Percy Percy .

agree with that 100%
