mikey123 Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 Hi - I'm a new to this forum. I'm having trouble working out to do with a pigeon that has come to stay with us. I noticed it was a pet as it has unusual markings (it's brown and white) and two pink rings around each leg. I've called the vet but they were unhelpful and all the pigeon sites all require codes which should be on the rings (and which this bird doesn't have) It arrived in a poor state last Monday. We gave it rice and water and kept it in a box away from my cats. I tried to release it later that evening but it did not want to fly. Similar story the next day too - happy to look around but not to go anywhere. On Wednesday it flew away but has come back every day since pecking at the window and generally hanging about the house. I don't want to encourage it to stay (we have cats) but also would like to reunite it with whoever owns it. I've not met a pigeon before and it seems like a really nice bird. My daughter has named it - I'd like to see it safe home. Can anybody help? I've attached a picture for reference. Best M
