Guest Steves Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 Am I too late to put my young birds on darkness?Just found out I'm almost the only one in the club not using this system, wondered why my birds always looked threadbare when in the basket on race day.

Guest Jimmybhoy Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 Pleased too hear it's not too late as I've just put my second round of ybs on the dark,Just a quick question fellas , I'm new to pigeon racing and the darkness system. My understanding is that darkness system makes the young uns body moult and that 8 weeks on the dark should be sufficient is this correct in your opinion ? I have mine on the dark from 6 pm till 10 am is this ok ya think , I'd like another couple hors really so I could fly them a bit longer pm when I get in from work could I lighten from 10 till 7 pm without any harm to the system? And what would be the latest you could put ybs on the dark if intended to race starting august the 1st?
