Guest Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 i would just like to mention that if people have personal opinions on anything and are thinking of sharing it with fellow forum members i think(and i also think other forum members will agree) that they should share it via pm with them because there might be more arguing and i think that weve just put a stop to it sorry if i seem to be moaning (complaining) all the time but i think its best for the forum and to stop arguing and keep it the forum posts positive does anyone agree!!!!!
Guest Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 yes i agree!!! and maybe this should aply to the current issue, as it is all getting rather boring now
MsPigeon Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Don't read it then! No one is forcing you to read the topics you don't care for or that offend you! Sorry, just my opinion, but isn't that what a forum is all about, sharing your opinions? We can share without being rude or hostile... Can't we? Carol
Guest Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 agreed Carol, how the hell are the folks in the UK going to get a balanced view o ETS is it is not openly discussed
MsPigeon Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Ya Hyacinth, and it certainly is not as boreing as the argueing about "feral pigeons" that dominates the PML!...
Guest Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Those guys must have little else to do, wonder when they ever have the time to take care of their birds.
peterpau Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Carol I gotta agree with ya. I seem to be making a habit of disagreeing with one member of this forum. However I have the utmost respect and admiration for him, but we have completely opposing opinions. I would be decidedly peeved if he felt it was personal, it's good we have different oppinions. Aint that what makes the world go round
Chris Little Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 That is straight to the point with pigeon fanciers. We are all human beings, it is in our nature we have differing opinions but yet the pigeon man takes things to heart and that is the end of it.... fall outs big style... How many times do we fall out with the wife or husband..... we still end up speaking to one another sooner or later ;D ;D
Guest Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 chris One thing that put me attack mode with your friend Mr. Lycett was that he was talking me down every time I spoke about ETS from a hands on I've used it for 6 years point of view. If you read my web page www.redroselofts.com you will see that I have a race record which anyone can be proud of and I will not be belittled by anyone, especially someone who really doesn't know what he's talking about and clutches at straws
MsPigeon Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 Yes Peterpau, Thats what makes the world go round ;D Thank Goodness
Mike Lycett Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 Hyacinth I don't believe I ever spoke down to you or anybody else. I'm not always right, I know that, but I do have opinions but i'm more than capable of expressing them without stooping to personal attacks that I felt that I was subjected to. If I upset anybody then I apologise 'cos it certainly isn';t intended - however, if I feel someone is having a "pop" then you bet I'll respond. Like Sid Barkel said before "I aint no dartboard & I aint no pin cushion either". Regards Mike
Mike Lycett Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 Tell you what "K-G".... People who know me well would categorise me as being a wind up merchant & a p*** taker. That's why they don't let me on quiz Panels any more !! ;D ;D The thing is though, I know when I'm doing it & I can honestly say I haven't tried to wind anybody up on this forum - or the UNC one for that matter.
Guest slugmonkey Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 It dosen matter where you post I have been on several forums and its always the same subjects and the same arguments in the case of the ETS nay sayers they are consistent it is always going to be the same eventually the manufactuarers will phases out mechanical clocks and then we will all race ets and everybody will say remember when, we will have GPS by then and ours will be a much diffrent sport in my club we are down from 6 guys with mechanical to 1 guy we were the 1st and everybody was up in arms we showed them the AU rule that said it was legal now some of the oldtimers are back and nearly everybody has one and most wonder how they ever got along without it
MsPigeon Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 some of the oldtimers are back and nearly everybody has one and most wonder how they ever got along without it Hip Hip Hooray! ;D
shiftty Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 yea i know people are aloud there opinion of course....but im sayin there is a line to cross and personally i think many have crossed it already in other sections of the forum...members are been driven away for the sake of petty little comments that may have offended them or just people generally arguing about subjects were people have often created the subject to ask of others opinions which is always good and educational.....but alot of the time these harmless discussions turn into a negative feeling topic. which more often than not is started or contributed to, by people crossing sensative boundries with there opinions when they know for themselves that it could very well offend people....i understand there will always be people that speak there mind and say exactly what they think.....all i am asking is that members think more carfefully before they post there opinions. cheers

Guest Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 A lot of people look at elecytronic timing as some sort of evil beastie, I wasn't too keen when I arrived in the states and Steve hadn't a "Proper Clock" I soon changed my ideas, one of the main advantages is that your birds don't become trap shy and sit our for ages cause they know that wicked human is going to grab them and pull at their leg. I have used it for 7 seasons now and never had a bad trap even with young birds on their first race and I've never not been at the loft when the birds are due home, I don't know of any in our club who aren't there also.
Guest Paulo Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Can you use ets with batteries? Just with being on an allotment we have no electric. Sorry if its a daft question I don't know much about ets thanks Paul
PIGEON_MAN Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 BELIEVE YOU CAN USE THE ETS WITH A BATTERY PACK.
Guest Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Yes you can buy battery packs with all the electronic clocks for sale in the USA
