Silverdale Lofts Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Liverpool boy im also lost ? on the mini club site says welcome to holytown flying club last season the club won 120 fed cards out of 18 races. The mini site was updated 12/05/2005 by robert cairns which states 45 members so if 18 have left to start another club wheres the other 27 members?
Guest ben Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Hi Bruno, What i would give to have a 1,000 miler in the loft, conqueror your right, alongside lionheart, endurance, tam`s delight,no wonder jim biss won Palomas,in the bicc Internationals, lucky bugger breeding off that lot. Clockman, What a proud man you must be,could you tell us what they were like in the hand, temprement, and how you managed them? to get them to fly1,000 miles? I know at 1 time the jocks had a proud record of 1,000 milers.i think 1 Irish loft as well Does any of you boys still fly 1 ,000 miles..is that in the BBC from Palomas?
liverpool_boy Posted December 14, 2005 Author Report Posted December 14, 2005 45 MEMBERS 27 LOFTS PARTNERSHIPS
Guest WINGS 04 Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 yes we had 45 members in the fed but there are 27 racing lofts in the club
Guest ben Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Hi Hyacinth, Don`t you know who d.palett flew against? Don`t you know about the UNC?,do your homework, get the maps out, find out the radius, ask a few fanciers here who know what they are talking about ....There`s only 3 National Clubs worthy to be called that in England...NFC....BBC...BICC....ALL other so called Nationals have radius to keep many fanciers out... That`s the TRUTH,but many sellers try to say(con you) different..but Hyacinth, keep this imformation in mind, and you will not go far wrong. The thing is,you do not have Nationals over there, but its the only true racing, because EVERYBODY can enter, and as the distance goes out passed 500/600 miles it evens things out.
Guest Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 Getting back to the problem at Holytown.... Is the AGM still to come? If it is, hopefully all club members have a cooling-off period to think carefully about the future. "Its not over till its over". Are you sure about the club assets remaining with the club? I would advise the remaining club members to double-check everything, and be doubly sure of your position and your grounds... especially on how to successfully oppose any move to disband the club.
Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Ben, The people who flew againt Dean Pallet whoever they were certainly knew they were up against an excellent flyer with excellent bird or the would have never boundried him out As for your remarks regarding the Mighty Up North Combine I will treat your remarks with the contempt they deserve. I also judge from your remarks that you view such specialist Clubs as The Midlands NFC, the North West Classic Club etc etc not worthy of being called clubs at all I see you did not comment on my remarks regarding the sexism within the National flying Club ??????????????????? Indeed we don't have Nationals in the USA being as The states are slightly bigger than the UK infact the state of Oregon is bigger in area than England. What we do have is One Loft Futurity and Multi Loft futurity races where our birds are pitted against the best from the USA and entrants from overseas, that is what I call fair form of racing pigeons. I am well aware of the Geography of the United Kingdom as I lived there for 50 odd years before moving over the pond, I am also well aware that most of the Winners of National FC live near or on the south Coast, so of course they fly a different pigeon to the guys up North and in many cases have far less open water to cross. We had a couple of good uns in Lancashire though, Mick Spencer and Colin Fisher. BTW Since I moved to The states I have won Little all American Loft YB 200 IF Champion (National) young bird Loft 2001 AU and Washington State Hall of Fame YB 2001 4th and 6th place IF Champion young Bird Loft 2002 3rd Place If (National award) combined old and young results. Only Day bird in world trade Centre Memorial Race 2003 flying 360 miles and winning $53,0000 2002/2003 Champion young Bird Evergreen state Concourse out of 2000 birds, in 2002 I took 6 of the first 10 places AU Breeders Cup 2003/3004) allowing me to use the Title Master Breeder In 2003 my loft was awarded 2 gold Medals in China for the Best USA and foreign entry out of approx 10,000 birds, entered in futurity races so I do know what I'm talking about and I don't sit in my arm chair I work dammed hard with the birds.
Guest WINGS 04 Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 well said hyacinth as you will see ben has still to say what he has done in his time is pigeon racing as he is just a stirrer
Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 wings there a lot top flyers on this forum that do like to put up there win's ben could be one of them you say stirrer down south this is some time called banter i do not agree with al his posts but it pulls in the punters by the way hyacinth when are you going to start racing old birds
Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Heathcot There is a very simple explanation why I don't race old, bird, the only thing him and I argued about when I arrived in the States was the birds, I didn't like they way he flew old birds, widowhood and he thought my method of training young birds, by using a flag was awful. So we decided to split the racing, him the Old and me the Young. The Old Bird Loft is marked His and The Young Hers Having said that Steve drives the training truck 4 days a week and it is I who waits by the loft to call the old birds in, they do trap well though cause I trained them when they were babies <VBG. Cheers
Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Rose, I would hate to see a flying club solely for women I consider myself a flyer just like the others of the opposite sex. Anywy, I would look daft in a monkey suit '
Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 his and hers hyacinth i don't see a little bit of sexism coming in to this ps just my cockny sense of humour
Guest Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 That keeps us from ripping each others hair out <VBG>
