I think the post was a valid one and as usual it tends to get out of hand your point is the most valid one alf i have no beef with the snfc as do most of the snrpc it was the fact that we did not want anything more to do with the shu the way it was being run so when the vote went the way it did there was nothing left to do but go so we were damed if we did and dammed if we didnt cant win  NO-ONE spat out anything so if we cant have a debate about it then maybe it should be left alone remember it was the man alfs talking about and his merry men and women that caused all that it had nothing to do with the snfc it just got draged into it sorry though it may be

Gentlemen. Tempers are still running high. I was at the meeting and was saddened when I saw the people who walked out. The calibre of the fanciers in question being quite outstanding. No dummy was spat out just honest honourable fanciers taking a stand for something they believed. They had no idea if the option to race from France would ever be theirs again. There is no doubt in the mind of serious fanciers that the SNFC is weaker as a result. The SNRPC seems to me to be cutting edge and putting up some tremendous performances. Now that we all have got the nonsense off our chest I ask again. WHAT CAN WE DO TO BRING UNITY BACK TO THE SPORT IN SCOTLAND. Those who don't share the passion please leave to others.

straight forward. why did those who moved on move on? the restriction requiring membership of the shu to participate in snfc races. remove this restriction and you will go a long way to putting it back together.

I agree and would go further. People have rights. We see that every day at work. We saw it when the disability act was pulled in regarding ets. I am not sure that what is being done ie forcing membership of one organisation (SHU) as a precursor to join another (SNFC) is legal. That aside is it what we the members want?

I think removing that clause about bieng a member of the shu would go a long way to sorting out some of our troubles but not all i doubt if it will ever be the same but that does not mean it cant be better with good people at the helm in both clubs we now have a small bit of history our self and to completly lose that would in my mind under estimate all the great performances put up by all the winners of the snrpc but only talk can sort it out i for one will allways continue my membership of the Snrpc as i think its a creat club and very forward thinking but the shu thing needs to be put to bed before anything can even start i dont have anything against the good/great shu members just the selfish fools who have been runing it over the last ten years or so

I think you hit the nail on the head. The SNRPC is making history and might always be there. I wonder if it can be a club within a club? A bit like LSC within Lanarkshire fed. SNRPC has surprised everyone with its successes. The quality of fancier and of results are outstanding within SNRPC. Sadly the quality elsewhere has fallen. I would love to see the whole lot go together. Perhaps Tours this year could be the start?

Sadly the members don't got to the meetings and the SHU does not encourage them to go as we both know Frank

What are all the organisations and their structure, I think I may be getting mixed up, RPRA seems to be the English Body according to their web site, the SHU and SNFC seems to be the Scottish bodies

http://www.rpra.org/

Welcome to the RPRA

The Royal Pigeon Racing Association is a national organisation

representing the sport of of pigeon racing in England.

We are privileged to have Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as our patron.

For over a century the Royal Pigeon Racing Association has been at the heart of pigeon racing in England, and we look forward to representing and supporting our loyal membership in the new millenium.

  Thank you for visiting.

In Ireland membership of either of the organisations is acceptable which seems sensible to me

how is it possible to go together anywhere when there is a restricted membership? the snrpc is open to anyone with a loft in the boundaries of scotland who is a member of a recognised ruling body. is that not the way forward?

Posted

Maybe its time for an organised get together from all the fanciers in Scotland and sort it out

I am new to pigeon politics but seen the very same in other sports "only the sport will suffer" by all the infighting

Surely in Scotland we all know the genuine guys who are interested in promoting the sports good will and harmony for the better of the sport, rather than for the better of themselves

Get these genuine people at the helm before the ship sinks, itstead of paddling about in wee boats arguing who has the better one and who is trying to rock it

This year the SNFC is finding it hard to convoy the birds to 600miles on its own and has taken a leaf out of SNRPC book and suggesting going to Tours with a third party. It is very possible that both SNFC and SNRPC will be in same convoy. Thankfully the doos don't mind. It really would show how silly things are.

And yes that is definately the way forward

You make a fair point. What we need is to envolve people who's interest in the sport is greater than their own self interest. Through the 60s and 70s we had that. Today I'm not so sure. Some sad people would like the split to continue as they are winning tickets today that were out of their reach 5 years ago. If you look the result half the winners struggled to time in before the split.

Hello Red yoyo. You been busy since you got back. Most of us want harmony. Too many people who have their own agenda to follow will try to stop that. The members need to stand up and be counted. FrankDooman called it right. SNRPC members (me included) would not now want to give up membership of such a forward thinking club.We are amazed and proud of what has been achieved so far and also what is in the pipeline. The folks who have tried to rubbish the club and starve it of publicity have failed. Quality will always shine out.

Posted
by your reasoning yoyo it was silly to move on due to restricted membership. should we forget all that and go back to where we were only 30K lighter?

No not at all. SNRPC will be recorded in history for all the right reasons. The 30K? The people who put that together are the same people who helped put the 130K that the SNFC started out with over the last few years. Sadly that is reducing. It has just come to mind that the SNFC pile is reducing while the SNRPC is rising tho the SNRPC policy is not to hold much more than is there at the moment. I am more interested in the doo than the cash.

I have been. Not sure if Scottish doo scene is ready to sort itself out. Over to the fanciers methinks?

You would not believe how all these problems are mirrored in other sports, the only outcome is the sport suffers long term

Beleive me the sport will suffer unless you get rid of the ones steering it in any direction that suits them, and only them.
