ken Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 not the man thats been diqualified its some one els
ken Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 iv been told helm knox and brown might top it but its verry close with another bloke thats terry knox
pjc Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 It won't be close with the guy who is disqualified, it will prob be close with the rest of the members birds as it was a sprint race that would be expected!
BIGK Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Your right mate money is 75% of the job, when you consider some lofts are brick built, centrally heated, air conditioned, running water and then theres the stock ontop of that, best feed, best vets from all over the world all costs money and then the other side of the coin, wooden shed on an allotment, best birds the man can afford, best corn his pocket money can get him and still leave enough to actually send his birds. Money money money it can go along way to getting you success believe me!!
joe61 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 you also have to posess stockman & management skills top stock will breed more top birds than bad ones oh happy days
retired Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Well done to the new winners whoever it may be. Not to take anything away from the guy who initially had the first 20 but if something was not right with his clock they have taken the right course of action and chucked him out.
timbarra Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 well there is no result yet so guess we should wait for the result before casting stones !!!!!! do you not think.
retired Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 well there is no result yet so guess we should wait for the result before casting stones !!!!!! do you not think. Who casted stones???????
Lennut Tar Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Most feds only print a result with the 1st 30 birds, we get a result with top 30 in each section and then an overall top 30! Who wants to know if they are 991st anyway? Phil Phil !!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D I think you might be somewhat surprised etc ;) now. Especially ??????? if your one of those Yanks. Enjoy.
retired Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Phil !!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D I think you might be somewhat surprised etc ;) now. Especially ??????? if your one of those Yanks. Enjoy. 232/3456 106/2342 96/1096 surely these are excellent results!!!! :D :D Enjoy
Lennut Tar Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 232/3456 106/2342 96/1096 surely these are excellent results!!!! :D :D Enjoy I wouldn't dispute that ;) all in the top 10% shall we say ;D ;D ;D But why in gods name would you want to know the last 10% in any race, the way I look at it "PMSL" But then !!!!!!!, each to their own. Enjoy.
joe61 Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 its the whole package boys money birds stockmanship and management and not to forget location and thats it in a nut shell PROFESSNOLISUM if you aint got 1 or more of the aforementioned then it is called amateurism and amateurs will never beat the PRO not on a consistent basis so you will be wasting your time effort by not starting off on the right foot thats why in sport and in life there is top and bottom do you want to be top or do you want to be bottom oh happy days
timbarra Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 joe61 ...... your grammar ??? sort it out man.. what would your teachers think
Roland Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Well Joe be that as it may, all that and much mre will never beat wind and location. So in real terms I guess one has to do what the 'Name' boys did and move! Buy the plot, forget one can't afford to etc. Forget one has to work. Forget that it's a sport and sell the culls. Yes it is easy when you have the money. But most of us just prop up the coffers for the more 'Best Positioned' and are happy with club life and the odd SECTION merit. WE aren't stupid! All the afore mentions of yours are as you say.... But that doesn't has n't made the 'Champs' and often not even a good flyer. Simple reality is the fact that seldom - if ever - the best bird wins the National, Section, Fed, and very often even the thge club race. That is a fact, and money can't help you, which is also an hextrodon in that Money has often helped caused it. Three cheers to Masserella, he did give the working man good birds and near working man's pocket - obviously he couln't purchase many - Shame he couldn't harness the wind, and give us all a 'Good Position'. Joe the reality is that there are far too many great fanciers, brilliant flyers every week that would more than hold their own ANYWHERE. And again the working man has 'Family' comittments that doesn't alow him to move, and certain not to remorgage the homes on a few birds!
ken Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 just been told my mate dident top the fed. the man who was disqualified in one club tops it in another club its to much for me some one els can work it out
pjc Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 does your head in Ken doesnt it! Just wait till result is published. Phil
pjc Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 there is clearly a lot going on behind the sceen and i'm sure that even when the result is published it won't be the last we here of it! I hope all goes better this week! Phil
Lennut Tar Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 joe61 ...... your grammar ??? sort it out man.. what would your teachers think Timbarra !!!!!!! You leave my good mate Joe 61 alone now "LMFAO". If spelling was the first criteria required to post here, from what I've read etc. You more than likely would be talking to yourself I'm afraid, the way I look at it "JMO", so please show some sympathy for those less fortunate "PMSL" Like Joe61 & myself etc. We do try our best you know !!!!!!! "LOL" & thats all we can do I'm afraid (Old age). PS. I've lost all my funny faces here I'm afraid. Enjoy.
JOE BRACCHI Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Mac 1 is off line at the moment but will get back to you all soon on this topic
jonny Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 I have met the man everyone is talking about , after talking to a member of my family ( not a pigeon man ) who told him I was racing pigeons and was last every week he invited me up to see his pigeons and gave me six eggs and one young bird from his stock loft , genuine hard working down to earth pigeon man , the sort of person I was told I would meet in the world of pigeons.
