Surely the question of national or not, boils down to this, no if's, but's or maybe's

If you are saying Scotland is a nation you must accept Wales, Ireland or England are also nations, as in SNRPC then surely if you compete against another nation as in Wales, Ireland or England then it has to be considered an International, we can't have it both ways.

If it is a Scottish national then it should be only open to Scots if we are a seperate nation.

Why is there no Welsh NRPC, Irish NRPC, English NRPC or even a UKNRPC to compliment the SNRPC

But Duncan how many clubs can you have claiming national status in one country ?

Harry, definately a marathon race 700 odd miles. I think you'll need a tail wind or it could be best part of a 3 day plodder race. I preffer 1 day races but I've got a job to go to most days, however whatever takes yer fancy and good luck to you all...[/

i would have thought you could have been one of the ones up to the challenge mate, but there you go

But will the NFC lib in a tail wind just to help the Scots lads & lassies ?

or will they look after the main stay of their body ?

I was talking to an SNRPC member from my Area & he was saying that the SNFC & the SNRPC were falling over themselves to get members from Ayrshire ...every thing is getting made easier ...with marking stations in Beith & near Kilmarnock.....expletive remove I had to go to Airdrie when I was lats in the "Nats" ....now you can join on the night in your own club ....expletive remove the next thing you know I'll be getting offered a 50 mile start ;-)

Join well see if you can achieve your dreams,if your good enought,no matter what national, both are difficult ,so letts see if you can cut it with the best 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

One if the above is applied, no different from the SHU, WHU, IHU, or the EHU if there is any, the trouble is we are not considered as a sport and have no specific governing bodies recognised by the sports council, pigeon racing is an entity all of it's own. I can start up the dovescot world homing royal pigeon racing federation tommorow and if I get enough members to join and fly against who could do anything about, no one :-/

I must be mistaken .....so sorry ....I take it from the Lesmahagow marking station being the closest to me that I wad mistaken & that the SNRPC do not want members from Ayrshire as it is a bit of a trek .....sorry I have misunderstood .....I thought a "National" would have had marking stations in all areas of the "National" ....so sorry if I have upset anyone or mislead any

Vince when you've got fast one day pigeons, sending them 700 miles is only going to slow them down, if you get them home. Its definately a different breed for 700 miles, as it is from 300 to 500. Also, I think most definately a hen race. Not my cup of tea but good luck.

I THINK YOU HAVE GOT A LITTLE MIXED UP HERE DOVEY MY LITTLE FRIEND NOBODY SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE OTHER NATIONS JOINING DID THEY OR DID I MISS SOMETHING HERE , ONE THING THE BIRDS FROM SCOTLAND ARE BEING TRANSPORTED BY THE N.F.C. TO SAINTES THE LIBERATION WILL BE THE SAME TIME, WE WILL IN SCOTLAND BE FLYING TO A SECTION WHICH HAS BEEN MADE AVAILABLE TO US

CALLED SECT M WE CAN THEN TAKE IT FROM THERE , IF SOMEONE TIMES A PIGEON

IN SECT M  THE BONUS WE ARE LOOKING FOR ,CAN IT MAKE IT HIGH UP IN THE N.F.C. RESULT  AND CAN THE REST OF THE PIGEONS MAKE IT HOME THATS ALL WE ASK

AND WHAT A BONUS FOR EVERY FANCIER THAT TOOK PART AND MAYBE WE CAN TRY AGAIN THE FOLLOWING YEAR , AND I CAN,T SEE ANYTHING TO STOP US EXCEPT RED TAPE ,

That was mentioned earlier totally impracticle, we are just a small island 6 or 7 hundred miles long and a lot less wide not the best layout, four seasons in one day, winds so unpredictable to plan races, just have to make the best of it :)

I like when you shout at me auld ain, this post has been all over the place, yourself included talking about things that have no relevance to the origonal question, Not complaing because that's what I thing the forum should all be about but I am damned if you are going to tell me I am mixed up, you mix it along with the best of us.

I would love to see a united Scotland in all walks of life, also a united Kingdom but there is no way I have seen you trying to achieve this, you just bang your own drum, very loud most of the time :)

the marking facility at muirhead is for members of the nfc regardless of whteher or not they are members of the snrpc. the snrpc have i believe funds for performance and prizes in hand that have been ring fenced for snrpc members from this racepont. the snrpc are convoying with the nfc.

No what I was suggesting was a federation of all nationals if you had Sco, Eng, Ire and Wls running their own nationals, the federation could be a commitee of two from each nation

John o Groats to Landsend is 822 miles by road, the widest part of the mainland is less than 400 miles so you are very restricted to the distance you can race within the uk :)

i,m sorry mylittle friend there was no intent ment ,i was thinking along the same lines as

you in the fact that your right the confederation what ch pied said should be looking to be running a race along the the same lines as they do in the continent , and they cry it

a international race from i think its barcaelona(rose ) would be able to give you more detail on that she helps out at these events and it could be for the whole of the british isles

but hey what about the weather , o.k. it could be lovely down south , but persisting of rain right from east to west and in to ireland and wales and north as far as you go , could be tried ,in the continent its flatter and all these countries lie on each others doorstep  but yo could be right little man worth a shot nothing ventured nothing gained
