Scenario: 2 members of a pigeon club almost come to 'blows' (over a minor issue)

how does a pigeon club deal with this problem?

Depends if they were both as bad as each other (no bullying) I think they should apologise to the members at the next club meeting, shake hands and get on with racing pigeons.

never seen the point of apologies in bhw/rp. what good does that do? arguments happen in clubs all the time but some take things far too serious.

Issue them both an RPRA rule book and get them to read section on ungentlemanly conduct, warn them of procedure and if it continues, implement the rules.. Or confiscate their handbags and give them both back their dummies

the conduct of a member with a view to taking

disciplinary action against him/her under the

provisions of Rule 70, a meeting must be

convened within 28 days of the dispute

arising, the secretary of the Organisation shall

the Organisation for that purpose and shall

pigeons, he may be excluded from

membership of that Organisation or expelled

or suspended from the Association by the

Organisation, any such suspension to be of

lead to the exclusion, expulsion or suspension

of a member shall be that specified in the

Association’s Standard Rules for adoption by

all affiliated Organisations under the heading

Organisation to exclude, suspend or expel any

person who is a member of a Club which is a

member of the affiliated Organisation, under

the provision of this Rule.

a few years ago we had a good sec and her husband and also an idiot member who on a weekly basis would cause nothing but trouble it all came 2 a head when he threatened the secs husband in a meeting, i then had a word in the members ear....who went very quiet.....upon the end of the meeting the idiot clipped me on the head and asked me 2 step outside...unfortunatley for him i readily accepted...i dont take no pride in sorting him but we seen a new member thee after and he apologised for his bullying...

let the people that are the, peacifiers , the lawyers ,the spokes person , the hard hitters , sort them out.

There's no such thing as attempted assault Adam, you either assault or you don't, just different levels.  When it comes to reporting ungentlemanly conduct even being abusive on here to another member can be common assault and get a member put before the RPRA or even Police for that.  Some people are just so arrogant they don't account for the rules and laws and how they can work for or against you.  For example shouting at someone in a particular fashion can be taken as common assault as can pointing at someone in a threatening manner.  The stages then go up as it progresses until it reaches full out section 18 assault which carries a life sentence.  Tony C gave a good answer that it shouldn't be tolerated, get the bully or big mouth punished because he probably thinks as most big mouths do that they are above the law and can get away with what they do, take him all the way no two ways about it.  

 

People these days think they can get away with things like mouthing off because the other party wouldn't dare take action or doesn't know how to, teach the man (or mouse) a lesson and set an example by getting him thrown out of racing, best way to hurt him.  I'm getting pissed off with the number of so called 'untouchable' bullies and big mouths I'm seeing in this sport and if you need help in getting rid of one just let me know and I'll gladly help.   > >

Just tell the pair of them to grow up and shut up if they cant talk to each other civally then just ignore each other i am assuming they are both adults so tell them to act like it.

This guy was threatening an assault, thats not any thing to do with pigeons, he crossed the line and made it personal! Fanciers like this better off out the sport IMO.

Thers two sides to very argument Mick and its easy to give advice when i'm sat behind a pc if it was me being threatened i would of Hit him then dealt with the consquences later.Lol but in hind sight i would be saying i shouldve ignored him again we dont know all the fact's .And yes i have had people in my face like that and one occaision i did shake his hand just as i was pulling his face into my head

I have but not in my face, sadly they wouldn't dare.  > > >   I'm *expletive removed* if I'd agree to shake the hand of a bully so I agee with you 100%. the best way to do it is to hit them where it hurts most and that's by getting them banned and out of the sport the proper way even if it does hurt your pride doing it that way.  :'(

I feel this public fourm is not the place to discuss this issue. you need to be carful about discussion club busnisses otuside of the club and committee level, this is an issue that should be delt with at committee level

Why?  Nobody has mentioned any club and all that was asked by JakJak was for advice and opinions which he's duly got, clearly he feels he can't ask his clubmates or maybe even committee or perhaps doesn't want to burden them?  Who knows but he certainly isn't doing any harm here.   :-/
