Guest frank dooman Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 do you mean the whole fed or just your clubs? no ans :-/
Guest bigda Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 jonsey, just say your birds got up at lancaster the went west to morcambe bay flew 20 feet above see level heading towards largs then still 20 feet up through to helensburgh up the leven, in to alexardria what dog leg have they come
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Is this about loosing pigeons or just not winning???? :-/ :-/ just looking at the introductory post, racing east chassing fanciers away. why would anyone get chased away with 100% returns, :-/ :o We had a club meeting... and EVERY member agreed thy did not want to race east (this is just for ybs and east in scotland, we do agree with the east of england).. So either these fanciers wont race these races or if they do only send a few pigeons.. so to me thats chasing people away from racing..
gone fishing Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 What i keep tryin to explain is the birds only can come up the middle.. due to the valley we live in... regardless of the wind.. east or west wind only means they'll be on the left or the right of the river leven.. So when we race from the east for instance and its a west wind... the doos fly straight in to the wind.. then have to fly south, still in to a west wind.. then turn the dog leg and start heading north / west.. still in to a west wind.. your fartin against thunder jonesy fair plays already gave a 40 year summery of flying into this area once u get over 250 miles u be in with a shout
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 no ans :-/ i did answer you frank
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 jonsey, just say your birds got up at lancaster the went west to morcambe bay flew 20 feet above see level heading towards largs then still 20 feet up through to helensburgh up the leven, in to alexardria what dog leg have they come Is that a riddle Bigda..??
Guest frank dooman Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Im not sure how other peoples doos come.. but thats the way i think Alexandria clubs come.. and that is all im ever referring to is Alexandria.. do you believe that the birds are split up from the shorter races, i dont think they are just some are that wee bit fitter/better/keener than others so they will all leave the lib point and travel home together untill the drag starts to break up the only exception to that would be BOP/attack or severe weather
Guest frank dooman Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 i did answer you frank sory i put that up at the same time
Guest stb- Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 EAST IS THE NEW WEST, Tried the rest and east is best ;)
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Frank we obviously dont know where the doos go or what they encounter.. were only guessing.. Its just my opinion that the birds have a hard enough fly in to the area without forcing upon them a bigger dog leg..
Guest bigda Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Im not sure how other peoples doos come.. but thats the way i think Alexandria clubs come.. and that is all im ever referring to is Alexandria.. i think your birds would come on in from lanark through the clyde valley down till about rutherglen hampden way before sorting themselfs out
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 i think your birds would come on in from lanark through the clyde valley down till about rutherglen hampden way before sorting themselfs out Well then bigda.. there racing in a dog leg... look at the map..

Guest bigda Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Is that a riddle Bigda..?? nope just, think you are in not a bad place to race the doos, try oben
Guest frank dooman Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Frank we obviously dont know where the doos go or what they encounter.. were obviously only guessing.. Its just my opinion that the birds have a hard enough fly in to the area without forcing upon them a bigger dog leg.. fair enough but that early on i dont mind my birds haveing a wee extra bit on the wing but i dont set my stall out for the shorter races and if your did the dog leg then the rest of the fed did aswell but as someone allready said you dont need to train birds how to get home they can do that fine thenself its about getting them fit and thinking correctly for the races you realy want to do well from how ever if its the short races you want then there is no doubt about it your in the wrong loc for that you need to move house
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Certainly.. Ally has a tough route.. but i think he'll do alright.. top guy..
Guest bigda Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Well then bigda.. there racing in a dog leg... look at the map.. year ago they used to go straight out the south over the top of us the don't now, the Glasgow birds have evolved the quickest route, or avoiding the TV masts, radio mast, or phone mast, all come since the 80s
Guest stb- Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 fair enough but that early on i dont mind my birds haveing a wee extra bit on the wing but i dont set my stall out for the shorter races and if your did the dog leg then the rest of the fed did aswell but as someone allready said you dont need to train birds how to get home they can do that fine thenself its about getting them fit and thinking correctly for the races you realy want to do well from how ever if its the short races you want then there is no doubt about it your in the wrong loc for that you need to move house Few nice wee houses in kirky for sale the now ;D ;D
