This is my last season so I decided I wanted to have a serious pop at Alencon and Clermont. I paired my two most reliable 3 year olds together, both of whom flew Clermont last year but only homed after a day. I sent them on two day old chicks and put the chicks under foster parents while they were away. I timed the hen on Sunday at 6pm, 3 hours out of race time and gave her the cock youngster from the foster parents expecting the cock the next day. She mothered the chick and was recovering well so I rung the youngster thinking I might get her to Clermont with the big youngster. Her cock arrived this morning (Friday) injured, limping and bashed undercarriage. Into the nest he goes makes a fuss of the hen and the chick. I look in at 11.00am and he's in nest knocking 10 bells out the baby. I swap the chick for the hen youngster from the foster parents. and peace and harmony resumes. 36 years I've kept pigeons and have never witnessed jealousy on this scale.

Shall be a very big miss in Bonnyrigg H.S. as Tom is the best and most knowledgable worker the club has.He also flies a good doo. I personally will be sorry to see him go as he has taught me a lot in the 3 years since I joined the club.
