Roundo Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 It's not very often an old bird season like this comes a long, so I thought I'd share this with the members. Firstly, our club Winchburgh & District (Scottish Central) have had what can only be described as a dream old bird season. Our members have topped the Fed on no fewer than 8 weeks on the trot, sometimes taken more than just the top spot.......that's every old bird race so far this season As I said, it's not very often this happens, hence my post.We all know with pigeon racing you can be up one week and down the next, but for our club to maintain this level of performances is something special. Secondly, the most satisfying thing for us (me & Dad)........we are responsible for the breeding of 5 off these Fed winners.......3 x Peter Keogh and 2 x ourselves. What makes these wins even more interesting are the birds that achieved these results. Peter's Ripon 1 winner is a direct son from our Cheq hen that won Ripon 2 the following week.........that's dam & son topping the Fed in the space of 2 wks to two different fanciers Then we have Peter's most recent Fed winner from Peterborough, which I think also finished 6th Open Scottish Central Yearling Combine, is the actual nestmate to our good Blue Pied hen that topped the Fed from Wakefield. As a matter of interest, our yearling Blue Pied hen achieved 7th, 9th, 3rd & 1st Fed in the space of 4 weeks. With pigeon racing we have to enjoy the good days to the max as more often than not the bad days out weigh them. Enjoy your birds!! Alb,Colin. PS. Late breds available soon

Roundo Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Another great winchburgh member U forgot to mention Henry borthwick one of the best flyer s in central fed Totally agree with you 100%, Henry is one of the best, his performances over the past few years have been outstanding, but I didn't want to single out club members. The only reason I mentioned Peter was that his Federation winners were bred by us. Now that you have mentioned Henry (2 x 1st Fed) I would like to mention Tam Weir who also topped the Fed........this makes up the 8 x 1st Feds. Well done lads!!!!!
