Roundo Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 Here's a guy that tops the Federation for fun whether it be old or young birds, but can't get fancier of the year.......because he doesn't fly the channel......been there myself not too long ago.Or perhaps he's in the wrong club........oops, did I say that out loud? lol And, he only keeps a small team of birds, no mob flying here, which shows how good a fancier he is. Well done Henry.......again!!!!! Maybe one day mate
wee ecky Posted May 9, 2014 Author Report Posted May 9, 2014 This is not called Fancier of the Year Colin. It is now called A Points Trophy so all fanciers have a better chance. This is just in Fed. races. The points system runs like this. Winner 20 points. If this person takes the next 9 places this cancels out the next 9 points so that the person who is second gets 10 points and if he takes the next 3 places the third person gets 6 points etc. Once you get points for your first bird no other points can be added. Hope this lets everyone understand how this system is working. Congratulations again Henry on great performances, long may it continue. Now Colin if you would stop eating so many sour grapes and attend the meetings you would know when changes were taking place.

Sour Grapes!! now now that's enough.......don't want to go there I know it's a points system but surely the fancier with the most points at the end of the season is crowned 'Fancier of the Year'?Does the 20 points stand for National racing as well? Was the 'points' breakdown for last season ever published???I've better things to do with my time that attend Fed meetings, anyway, our Club has a delegate that feedbacks any changes.
wee ecky Posted May 9, 2014 Author Report Posted May 9, 2014 Yes, the fancier with the most points did win Fancier of the Year. John MacNeill 191 points Henry Borthwick 182 points as was published last year. National races don`t count as this is a Points Trophy for Federation Racing as I already said. Now if you listened to your delegate I wouldn`t have to come on here and explain it to you.
