Well done to Michael MacLennan for winning the first race of the season with GB10C27876 on 1195.31ypm, with the club using an agreed braking point. I hope to publish the full result at a later date. Full result now posted below. Is using a breaking point not contradictory to Scottish Homing Union rules ?
Guest bigda Posted May 11, 2014 Report Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) I THINK THIS SHOULD BE USED IN ALL RACES when the wind direction changes, east to west west to east. and north to south if that is your line of flight, the nat breaking point should be eyemouth, 52 mile to dundee, and eyemouth 105 mile into glasgow against the west windand ayr for a east wind giving dundee 95 mile mile against the wind Edited May 11, 2014 by bigda

Our club is spread out about 27 ish miles East to West and the birds come mainly from the East so we have introduced the breakpoint to try to give everyone a chance of winning.

Hello "hawked again" I can understand why you lads have introduced a breaking point,but many federations reach far and wide and members just have to put up with it every week,they know even if they win their club they have very little chance of getting on their federation result,the question I ask, is what you are doing staying within the rules of the S.H.U. their rule states that members must have their flying distance measured by the great circle system by approved measurers. You state that you submit the official result to the federation......Sorry I am not versed in how your club flys,is it independant or do you fly as part of a federation where your members can win federation positions? I do know that there are quite a few members in the fancy that would like various organisations to adopt breaking points, Cheers,...JBC/...
