Take an early round off what birds you have left after this years racing mate :animatedpigeons:

 

and use one of the sections in the loft for the breeders? I probably have room for 1-2 stock pairs but that would be it. how many broods does a hen normally have, is it 2-3 per year?

You could take three Dan but I wouldn't recommend it if your planning to race the bird as well, thats why I suggested taking an early round and then you can play about with the nesting cycle during racing using pot eggs and the odd hatchling.

Breed from your best racers and float to the ones that aint been so good ;) they will lay 10 days in between , or buy birds in every year and if have good birds bull your best cock and swap with other fanciers ;)
