kingbilly 1 Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Another name worthy of a place among the elite is Willie and Margaret Wilson of larkhall After a brief move to Fife the Wilson family moved back to Lanarkshire in 1956 and settled in Larkhall They soon returned to their winning ways and won 27th open Nantes in 1958 then 5th Open in the hard 1960 race from RENNES and 18th Open Nants the same year A progression of SNFC Winner were to follow with Santa Claus wife 81st Rennes and 22nd Open Nantes and 85th Open in the Vaux Usher international race winning a total of £800 W HITE tAIL WON 1ST WEST SECTION AND 5TH OPEN NANTES IN 1971 and when put to stock founded a dynassty of national winners Evel Knevel three times a national winner including 7th section NANTES In the 1880s Willies champion was a blue pied hen THE SWAN her sire was bred by Davie and Mima Donaldson and he was paired to the £1ooo HEN then last daughter of White tail THE £1000 hEN WAS NEVE IN A BASKET AND SHE DERIVED her name from Willie continually telling his frends See that hen a widnae sell her for a thoosand pounds for her The SWAN won 12th 64th and 49th Open Nantes helping Willie achieve his 4th westsection triumph Many fanciers owe their success at distance racing to the Wilson bloodlines Two of the top distance lofts within the SNFC at this present time Jim Hannah and the late George Ranking and Son who have both gained success with the Willson stock

yeboah Posted December 12, 2013 Report Posted December 12, 2013 Built and erected a new loft for a fanciers return to the sport after 30 years and he said if he had the choice of any pigeons to restock with it would have been the Wilson 's of Larkhall as they were extra Special .
