I am sorry but you are talking a load of rubbish. As I have said before, I do not deal in theories. The ideas of Bishop or Old Hand were part of the development of the sport and he was guessing about some of the stuff he wrote about whereas he was ahead of his time about other things he spoke about. The job he was really doing was writing in a way that would help to sell his paper and he did a good job as far as that was concerned.

Breeding is just a stab in the dark good racers & breeders dont necessarliy pass there qualities on ,but obtaining your stock from a loft that does its share of winning gives you a chance ,books, old hand or what ever are just a good read ,theories ,ideas secret formulas just propoganda to reel the fancier in well thats my opinion for what its worth ,but it certainly not worth arguing about ,so good luck to all in there breeding as thats just what it is .

I couldn't agree more. My way of trying to find better birds is to continually mate my winners together in the hope that they will produce either their like or something better. It seems to be working fairly well because I lose a lot less birds these days and I win a lot more. I have to say that over the years I have changed a lot of things so my better results could be down to other things or several things combined together.
