YB'S of TAMMY.

following my plans to form a team of pure blacks ,this morning the 2 prs yb's that Tammy kindly offered to breed for me arrived ,& to say i am more than well pleased with them is an understatement,they are exceptional,well bred,healthy & spotless ,a real credit to you Tam,these will form an excellent base to start ....

have you ever heard that black attracts the sun?

well this is JMO but dont black pigeons that fly .overheat much more then grays or even whites? :

Three of 'em as black as the  Hobs of Hell!  The younger one, looks  like daddy was lost for a few days. lol. By the way TAMMY, when breeding blacks, do you  ever get the odd silver or barless mealy. An old friend of mine, was doing it in the fifties and he told me that there was some connection between these Colour Patterns.                 Good luck for the Weekend.

is it true that if you have blacks they can act as a sort of deterrant to the hawks i have lost all my birds i have athread with a problem i had turned out to be down to a hawk stalking my place and then the attack happened killed 2 of my ybs and the other 5 not returned since  i dont race in a club just me and my son i had 5 he has 2 we just competed for fun with each other on doubling his pocket money if his 2 beat mine home we are getting some more from a local fancier but just wanted to know if this was true about blacks

cheers amanda it was something i heard well before i got any pigeonsand am curious to know now as we used to have a couple of pure black tumblers when we kept rollers tipplers and tumblers i was thinking of going back to these type of pigeons and just keeping a few racers for me and my son the local chap has 6 for me which he had bred before my problem started and have spoke to a pal of his who has rollers and said to let him know if i want any of them he will breed me some

I have heard of those hawk orbs that you place on a pole above your loft,

But i dont know how effective they are. Or if they work at all.

Im sure when you want some fancy pigeons to keep. The members on here will be only to happy to help you out.

PJC knows alot about fancy birds. he put us right about the fancy tiger swallows.

Keith Thomas moved into the hills in Wales a few years back and got a team of black/dark uns and the hawks took them just the same as he was writing in the BHW every week to let us all know how he was getting on..Ended up he gave up and moved back to Portsmouth ( i think )

Well when you and your son start racing each other again let us know.

Then perhaps he can come online and tell us about all the times his birds beat your lol ;D ;D ;D ;D

plus the members on here might be able to tell him " how to get more pocket money out of dad" lol ;D ;D ;D
