Whats the benefits? ??? have always done it,I think it makes your old birds fly a bit faster and longer without having to flag them
Novice Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Mine run together. The initial benefit for me was that the old birds stopped the youngsters ranging too far in the early stages. Eventually the youngsters range on their own leaving the old birds behind.

William Reid Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Billy how do you feel the doos general fitness is when on open bowl? would you say it's better??I don't know if better is the right word to use . The last couple of years I was on w/h last year had six on it but could not get them out at night but the six cocks all handeld the same with controlled feeding .what I have noticed this year that all the birds have more their natural shape and weight with the hopper feeding .fitness well I had one yearling hen away on Saturday got her at 4.24 sht time. Her last race was Newark and she never had a training toss from then was it luck or general fitness but she was healthy
