buster151 Posted May 17, 2013 Author Report Posted May 17, 2013 thank you was trying to see if they carry diseases as sparrows do
OLDYELLOW Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 Over treating will ruin any birds health , natural immunity is far better than anything subscribed by a vet , your flock is only as strong as your weakest birds immunity , weak inferior birds are the gateway to illness in a loft in nature they'd be removed bring your loft in line with nature Birds in the wild don't queue up for there fix at the vets
peter2010 Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 got them as well, they seem to be nesting more in the built up area's wonder why ??????? we never got that year's ago.Do yous still eat them up in Carluke
Wiley Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 I have many elderberry bushes in my garden and they come in there droves, never suffered any problems. I'd be more inclined if there coming down with stuff there catching them in the race basket. Your pigeons are only as clean as your dirtiest club member.

OLDYELLOW Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 great in theory yellow but while your waiting on that happening your birds will be droping like flys m8Isolate anything doubtful put in place good health care and management this includes diet and prevention , work with natural immunity and support it . Birds only show illness at the very end as if there unfit in the wild there someone else's dinner

blaz Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 yes think wood pigeons will have something to do with diseases getting passed to your birds.a mate of mine years back took a young wood pigeon in to his loft he did not have race birds but pouters and a few homers .with in a week or two he was near wiped out.can,t mind which disease but it was down to the wood pigeon as he done a bit research on them and diseases.
