Far North Flyer Posted May 2, 2013 Report Share Posted May 2, 2013 Hi all, I'm toying with widowhood and got as fas as separating cocks and hens I'm short of space but the cocks can't see the hens.i fly them at different times and was planning to introduce the hens and nest bowls 1 hour before basketing.any advice please with regard to what I'm doing.theyve been on this system 1 week and basketing is tomorrow Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
just ask me Posted May 2, 2013 Report Share Posted May 2, 2013 take it easy if its there first race just give them the bowls this week before the race when they arive home from the race let them see the hens then next week you can introduce the hens if you like or you can leave it for 3 or 4 weeks down the road its more about leaning that the hens will be there on arrival from the race then seeing the hens before the basketing for the race if you feel a drop off in form in 3 or so weeks then you can introduce the hens wodowhood i feel the less you do the better Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

gulkie Posted May 3, 2013 Report Share Posted May 3, 2013 If u do decide to show the hens don't let them tread the cock that Gets down deepest in the bowl is ur pooler if the birds are yearlings I would not show them their hens as they tend to race their race in the basket good luck.
