I'm presently working on the conversion of Lat/Long for Scottish Union and Irish Union supplied measurements to Google Earth (RPRA is now completed) and so would request if anyone here is prepared to send me theirs using the Pigeon Basics Private Message?

i would watch who im giving my exact location to you dont know who they are

yes i would agree with this, the google earth is of no use, as all measures are done on a ordnance map, and i think this guy would be more interested in your email address than your measurement

In answer to some comments:-

Privately between you and myself.

Why not just contact the Scottish union

Even if I knew of a name to supply, rightly so they would not supply me with the co-ordinates of one of their members.

...the google earth is of no use, as all measures are done on a ordnance map...

The mathematics involved with converting RPRA OS co-ordinates to Google Earth WGS84 co-ordinates, has as I stated already been completed by myself.

Last year I completed an interesting excersize for a 21 member RPRA club and it was found out using the mathematics involved that their member's co-ordinates varied between 2 yards and 710 yards out. The secretary then submitted every member's Google Earth co-ordinates to the RPRA and I was then supplied later with their new RPRA co-ordinates. I then did all the conversions again and forwarded to him my Google Earth images for him to compare with his copy originals and all were exact.

In my view for total transparency considering one club had such glaring anomalies. Perhaps the RPRA could then go one step further onwards from submitting Google Earth co-ordinates and give members the opportunity to double check on their web site a cross check just in case a mistake was made by the RPRA or a club, because without that we are still having to accept what is supplied is accurate.
