VMS Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 My moniter on my laptop has chucked it and I have important files that I have to retrieve on it,can I plug my laptop into a seperate moniter to view files downloads etc.Any help would be appreciated thanks
THE FIFER Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 why has it packed in, laptops shut down if over heating, in air vents are on the bottom of a laptop, so needs space underneath, let it cool down, and if you have a vacuum do the vents under the laptop, I know its funny but you should never sit a laptop on your lap, you should always have air space underneath
VMS Posted April 2, 2013 Author Report Posted April 2, 2013 Half of the screen has became defective so can't view anything laptop is fine just the screen that's broke was hoping I could plug it into another moniter to view the files I need for work mate
just ask me Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 you should have no problems getting files etc from laptop you can even buy a screen to replace the one on your current laptop

Just as soupie says dead easy get a 15 pin adapter normally blue Plug both sides. Most desktop computers have this cable disconnect the desktop computer (blue) and plug it into your laptop. Press and hold the button near the top which looks like a Tv screen around f5 or f4 then you have a temporary screen for your laptop. New screen will cost 70- 90 quid.
