Amazing how pigeons throwback to Grandparents/Great Grandparents. And old opal stock cock has bred me loads of ybs, but never ever has one been opal, they've always been blue. This year, he's bred an opal him self, And his daughter has bred two opals, and then his son has also bred one, Not bad saying that i'd never bred a opal out of his family. :)

an "old hand" once told me of a 7 year cycle in colouration . his family of dark and blue checkers would throw pieds every 7 years , they even produced 1 near white cock . :animatedpigeons:
