the post was put up to help the man out , pure and simple . yes it can be a bit "hit & miss" with late-breds . they were for his "future" in the sport , how he chose to deal with them ,will be a lesson or learning curve ,he will learn bye .i have a late-bred here that done me well , went on to score at the distance and since moving has bred many winners , i will hopefully gift him some in the coming year and he , in turn , will do well them , rather than have the man open to being criticised for a minor mis-take while learning how to keep doo,s .(thats a polite way of saying " wind yer kneck in" ) :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

Exactly, It's only us that know they're latebreds not the bird

Couldn't agree more!

Some people just don't like them, One guy in my club was the same always saying how i shouldn't breed them ect ect, Wasn't saying that when i was at the top of the sheet i tell ya :)

i dont race young birds as a rule and the majority of my youngsters are early july bred 32 of them, been doing this for about 6 years now and it works for me and have trained them up to around 100 miles ( fife ) only dropped 5 , they will get one 30 mile training toss a few days before racing starts and they will all go as far as 300 to 360 miles, hasnt affected my results any infact my fed winners over the past couple of years are late bred youngsters (july) , but i doesnt always work for some but does for me, last traing toss was in mid november

our "auld friend" Billy King used to state (latebreds are our future) i respected his quotes and stood by many of them , this one has always stayed true to me . :animatedpigeons:
