Hi, I have just bought a 10x8 loft (2ft Corridor) for next years youngsters, was wondering how many this would be suitable for?? also for years I have never let my youngsters out in the mornings I would be able to from next year, is there any pro's and con's about having them out in the morning. Replies appreciated.

for me i always use the this wee method to determine how many

10x6 living space = 60, 2 thirds of this = 40 birds

8x6 = 48, 2/3s = 32 birds

The more youngsters you put in the loft the more chance of disease it also depends on loft is the front all open ie dowels or is it all closed with polycarbonate my theory is if you can smell the birds the air flow is wrong the more air the better even my roundabout lofts are dowelled fronts with corridors as for letting y/bs out early morning first light in my opinion is best as long as when the land you get them straight in as you dont want them to get any bad habits also my birds fly really well at first light

Slight con to having them out in a morning, There is a lot more trainers about in the sky, So easier for your pack to hit them, I find it best to not let them out until they have had a few training chucks behind them.
