Guest RJefferies Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I recently obtained the attached South African newspaper clipping of the Royal Treatment which was afforded to the most expensive pigeon at the time in 1992, namely, Invincible Spirit, which was purchased by Louella Pigeon World. I cannot vouch for it's accuracy, perhaps members can confirm whether it is true or not? The Clipping Reads as Follows:London- Invincible Spirit got the VIP (very important pigeon) treatment when it was flown to London in a Business Class Seat and was met by a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce. With a GBP 110 800 price tag, it was described by it’s new British owners as the most expensive racing pigeon in the world. It arrived on a scheduled flight from its old roost in the Netherlands. Breeders Louella Pigeon World of Loughborough compare Invincible Spirit to a thoroughbred racehorse and plan to use it in a six-year breeding programme
