soldiers killed in ireland

Spineless b*****ds, as an ex soldier who knows what its like to loose friends through violence/war, my thoughts are with the boys families. The sad part is that nothing will come of it, jailed if caught, so what, it doesnt bring the boys back.

Many murders were given their freedom as part of the NI Agreement for peace. If trouble starts again wonder if this is reversable

Yes we got peace in Ierland, however this was done as a replacement for an eye for an eye and the bad guys know it.

The government will let them out tomorrow for a promise they will not do it again. This is in starke contrast to Mr Ronny Briggs who rots in jail, not for crimes against us the common poeple, but because he stole Government money, much like the bankers of today, whose only repayment would appear to be no extra financial pay off's.

Real shame feel for them

It takes detestable cowards to do things like this. The problem is that the authorities do not value the soldiers lives. You can see this by the way they react to the deaths. Plenty of talk but not much else. If they really cared they would pursue these yellow parasites as far and as fast as it takes to get them. And if it was up to me I would make sure that they were shot while trying to escape. We British have become soft touches on every level. We never mean what we say. It does'nt matter if we are dealing with yobs or idiots like these. If we catch them we feel sorry for them and they get away with murder. Literaly in some cases. Human rights? What about the human rights of those of us who just want to live peaceful law abiding lives?

Very sad what happened, but apigeon forum not a place for politics (or religion), thats the great thing with pigeons how it can bring everyone together, so lets keep it that way.

mickb,

My statement or Owen's are no political or religous we are only stateing how we feel, just as many other do on this form about all manor of issues.

Like Catalea lofts i also served in the army, doing three tours of N I in the seventies, when the trouble was very much at it's peak.

I am intitialed to my oppinion and i gave it

Goes without saying that all our thoughts lie with their loved ones

Read your post again mate, its politics.

I see many guys giving "their opinion" of various issues, not just this one, thats what spoils this site, i'm not here to argue over stuff like this i'm on here to talk, discuss and learn about pigeons. I can go to the local pub and do all the other stuff.

Terrible news, especially when you take into account how much progress has been made since the end of the hostilities.

i do not think its political to express my view that the vermin that done this [and are trying to drag that place back to the "old" days]should be gassed like rabid badgers

Like everyone else my thoughts are with the families of the soldiers whose lives were pointlesssly sacrificed.

Having said that we are all entitled to our political and religeous opinions. I do, however believe, that these thoughts are private and should not be forced on others as seems to happen all too often on this site.

I live in an area where religeon and politics have actually caused pigeon clubs to disband. I simply cannot see the connection between pigeons and religeon.

The problem we all face is that politics and to a much lesser extent religion are part of us and our lives and attitudes will reflect this.

I joined this forum because I wanted to talk about pigeons and learn from the experience of others. And the good news is that I am enjoying being part of it very much. However, when something significate happens in the world at large it would be impossible for it not to affect my attitudes and opinions. And I am very grateful to have the chance to examine how I feel against other people's opinions from all over Britain. I even like the fact that we can debate the idea of exposing our opinions on the forum. To those of you who may be upset or offended by anything I say, I am sorry. To those of you who are prepared to express their opinions on matters other than pigeons, thanks. But at the end of the day what is going on in the world around us will impact on us whether we like it or not. And when all is said and done, we always come back to our first love. Pigeons.

To think these lads are putting their lives on the line in Afganistan, Iraq etc and they get murdered in their own country. Unbelievable. Dont know what else to say.

Novice well said mate, the type of religeon you talk of coming from the west of Scotland, streaches not much further than Rangers and Celtic

I would post nothing on here in order to force others into anything

As for the connection between Pigeons and religeon there is none, its people and pigeons that have caused clubs to be disbanded.

Religeon has no connection with anything in this year of 2009,thats why my local church had 43 at the Sunday morning service this morning, its also  why Ibrox will be full today when they play Hamilton Accadenicals.

The world we live in mate the world that is west and central Scotland

What we have here is people who have been part of the forces which is like a family even when we leave. So when we hear these happenings, it hurts like hell. Political or not, it still hurts and is often good to air your feelings, if you havent been there you wont understand. Condolences are being given along with an opinion, and the families are all to aware of the risks the forces are faced with, but it still hurts like hell when you loose a loved one. Maybe the title should have read "Condolences seeked for soldiers loved ones", and the politics may have been kept away, but somehow i dont think so. All i say is try and understand the guys who have a view, and more importantly why, i think you,ll find they have been affected in some way far more than words being said..
