JohnQuinn Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Just a wee note to let you all know what the plans are for returning the doos. When the transporter gets to Carlisle the driver will call the Secretary and give him an approximate time for the birds to be returned to the marking station they left from, Stuart will contact the club sec's and tell them when they need to be at the club. The club sec's will inform their members when to come for their doos. The transporter will return tomorrow to pick the baskets back up. Hope this info helps.Away tae start a back shift now
JohnQuinn Posted July 10, 2012 Author Report Posted July 10, 2012 Have to say my 2 entries were still in good condition despite the length of time in the basket, both have lost a little weight but otherwise they are shining. Hope everyone can say the same.

Not too sure it would have been the same in our big trailer I'm sure it would have been the same Frank, i think the reduced birds per basket has made a difference. I canny actually say i've ever had doos brought back that weren't in good order and its happened a few times over the years.
Delboy Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 One of mine was poor, the other 3 were fine to fly . I let them out of the basket at the loft and they flew for ages. ONLY 7 DAYS IN LOFT THEN HOLIDAYS IN FRANCE AGAIN LOL

Only asking because i think it is essential that doos going away to National races must be able to handle themselves in the basket or they're gonners, regardless of racing ability. jmo.
Novice Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Compliments to the convoyer. All my birds were in good condition but had lost some weight.Having said that we never have the opportunity to examine them before they are released after only 2-3 days in the basket so they may always lose some weight. Home safely and that is what matters.

A massive question mark over the bird now, he was the best going away, the worst coming back.No faith in him now.
