The decision not to Hullavington was based on Federation Rules, the decision not to go to Charnock Richards or Appleby was taken around lunchtime yesterday and couldn't or shouldn't have been taken earlier.

What i will say to Charlie is nobody holds a gun to any members head to race or not race their birds and your criticism/slanderous remarks about the Fed are O,O,O. You are a new member of the Fed and left the other Fed you were in to join Lanarkshire, i'm thinking maybe there ain't no pleasing you, or that if you have such strong views put you name forward for a position in the Fed and have a go at making decision that will please all of the people all of the time, atb

John

you are being unfair the guy just asked a question as why clubs were not informed they had changed the racepoint decided at the AGM with four hour's notice.

Moving The race point in my opinion was the correct choice to make!

If your not in the loop then you don't know what is happening I would imagine it would be annoying to turn up to find out the plans have changed.

is there not freedom of speach i have only asked as a member who pays his dues to be kept informed ,and i have never said that decisions were wrong only annoyed as to never beeing told of these desisions maybe we should have an information officer

iam only speaking my mind and not for my club view atb

I imagine it would be annoying Frank but as you say, the Right decision was made, and at the end of the day that is the most important issue here not who might or might not have changed their own plans with the knowledge they were going to Longtown. If ma doos were fit to fly Charnock Richards today i wouldn't have a problem sending them half the distance, if they weren't fit to fly Char they shouldn't be sent Anywhere. imho

For me it is another Wrong decision by the Fed the birds should have beeen sent to Charnock as per the program. :emoticon-0138-thinking::emoticon-0138-thinking::emoticon-0138-thinking:

If its a holdover today arrangements should be made to take them to Charnock.Whats going to happen on 7th July when around 200 birds will be sitting at Carentan ,Do they get moved to Ypres AND get liberated with the SNFC or will they be brought back to Longtown to conclude the West Route racing season.???:emoticon-0156-rain:

Andy the Majority of members would have known at basketting that the race had been changed from Charnock to Longtown. Fanciers sent accordingly, so there is no way that you can order a transporter to take them 90 miles further.

Gareth are you telling me that they changed there teams at the last minute and only sent sprinters. With regards to the Transporter you can amend the order and with the £ clout the Fed has it should not be issue.Do you think they will liberate today and if you had been in charge would you have cancelled Charnock???

Think at the next AGM we should maybe introduce an "internet info line" of communication as well as the phone line, but in saying that some members will still not find out about decisions taken until they get to their respective clubs to mark their doos.

This is why its not possible to delay basketing for races because it would cause even more upheaval if 100 guys turned up at the club on a Friday expecting to send their doos away only to find the club houses closed. Being BIG has its disadvantages too!!

John the UNC can delay basketing and they are dealing with 20/30000 birds.

Yesterday it was no better than 50/50 to get a lib from Longtown, there was no chance of a race from Charnock on either Saturday or Sunday.

I wouldn't have changed the race point because when you have strong westerly winds like the UK is having at the moment then the weather can change within hours. Not all that interested in the fed race this week, so only sent 5 hens, 4 of them spare which includes two late bteds.

If i had pigeons away that were earmarked for Ypres etc, then i would be very disappointed that the doos are not sitting at Charnock instead of a meaningless Longtown race, especially with the forecast looking promising tommorow.

Weather clearing up here in Lanarkshire are there any PB MEMBERS from the Longtown area who can comment on the weather.

Weather no to good here very heavy rain just cleared dry at present but would not put any bets on for how long strong wind high cloud at present with 99% cover
