Tony C Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 The winner is the best pigeon on the day and I dont wish to take anything away from that. What I would like to see is what in your opinion was the next best pigeon on the day. It generally takes someone else to point out a good performance as we all dont know where clubs or fanciers lay, all we see on results is distance to lofts. Lets give some of these fanciers a bit of well deserved credit.
andy Burgess Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 well can only speak for myself Tony ,have 2 in the loft that should have done better result wise.a dark cock who returned and flew around for 5 minutes to follow second bird home in and be 5th club ,minutes behind the fed topper .and a blue cock who flew around 3 minutes to end up 2nd club third fed but it wasnt there fault ,it was mine due to heavy feeding in early races because of cold East winds .
Wiley Posted June 15, 2012 Report Posted June 15, 2012 It's something I always look for when introducing bad position but does very well can only speak on the East London results, but over the years one of the most westerly lofts have been federation Champions nearly every year and that's M. Connolly & Son, apart from this year most years the wind has been westerly and you would think they wouldn't be in the shake up, but they are always there and have been for 20 years. Bad loft location, Good birds and Great fanciers hardest thing is I have to compete against them every week at club level, but if you want to be the best you have to beat the best. They have also won the LNRC I believe 3 times, his brother next door has won the LNRC either 5 or 6 times.
