OLDYELLOW Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 Is Defra more powerful than R.S.P.B would be a step in the right direction to get bop numbers in to a more natural and sustainable numbers rather than the over population we are seeing now
Guest IB Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 DEFRA is the arm of Government charged with reponsibility for managing wildlife, the environment including farming issues like animal production and their health & welfare. I think this research shows that the Government are not convinced by this 'BOP takes precedence over eveything else' argument that conservationists spout ad-nauseum, and are prepared to spend a tidy amount of money to establish the facts of what is really happening out there. I hope that our Unions give evidence on BOP impact on racing pigeons.
geordie1234 Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 Hopefully a step in the right direction, as a financial point of view would great pheasant shooting bring in more revenue than what the bop does?
b.massey Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 But David Taylor, shooting campaign manager for the group, added: "It is a shame the government have had to commission this expensive exercise simply to appease a group of people who believe that raptors have a greater significance than any other bird. "Such a mentality is dangerous for conservation and scarcely justifies the large cost to the taxpayer." Think this wee statement is magic.... People out there (other than fanciers) starting to see the RSPB are not protecting all birds and only BOP
john cumming Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 that clown on the news the other day just spoke a load oh sh*t , and yes im glad others are now seeing the rspb for what they really are as far as the bop are concerned john
VAGIN Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 I dont think this will make much diffrence to BOPs and the pigeon fancierI think the reason defra is going to act on this situation . Is that Lord Haw Haw of the green welly brigadewho sits in the house off lords and has a shooting estate is loosing ££££ Thats the real reson???How many Lord Haw Haws race pigeons I dont know any ???????
