A record most likely never ever to be beaten.

Certainly far and away better that any other boxer at any weight throughout the history of the boxing, going back even to the bare knuckle days.

He's fought every other leading contender and WORLD champ of 168lb of his era. Now it will be 9 con secretive opponents on the trot. Out doing Jimmy Brittains equalling 6 and Tommy Fars' 5. Yes, when Carl Froch fights the world champ Bute from Canada. Can he win? Well of course, but Bute is a very heavy hitter, especially to the body, and is no slouch when ability and speed is needed.

The ironny is that 9 have decided to take him on. Not many top boys take on the next best, or top five contender till it's a 'Needs Be'. Indeed the only one that ran from him was Calzaghe, but then one only has to, like Froch says and so many sports writers state, 'Go down his record and see who he fought and when he fought them. He did also retire rather than fight Froch and gave up his belt instead. Maybe he liked the idea of keeping his undefeated statues. Can't blame him for that, and he had a few £million stashed away so ... What I - like so many others - found so distastefull regards Calzaghe was him bad mouthing Froch after Froch had patiently waited and never bad mouthed him, after he had retired. Agreed in the end Froch did phone him several times with the TV camera' rolling challenging him out. Even said he'd donate his purse to charity of Joe's choice, or on a winner take all etc. etc.

Strangely enough Naseem Hamed, who earnt £40million by entertaining and winning, did actually fight and beat every champion in his division.

still has a lot to prove to me to be a great was lucky to get away with beating Johnston who has been beaten lots of times was beaten by the dane kessiler was boxed around the ring by ward only for ward taking his foot off the gas in the later rounds and froch picking up a few handy rounds it could of been a walk over

also think apart from one or two fighters its not the great division it was over the last 30 years with a half a dozen top boys on the go at one time

the big fights are in the states there no doubt about that until he spends a few years over there getting the big fights in vegas fighting the best of the Americans he has a lot to prove to me

seen it so many times fighers hand picking fighters in the uk and around Europe and fighting older Americans who come over most of the time for a pay day as there finished in the states

hamed was another who picked his fights well when he came up against class he was found way short

A lot of truth there, but Froch has fought them all.

Like he says, all records have a loss or two, or more. But when you look at the two who beat him, think Kessler retired after, but back provided he don't fight froch again lol and Andre Ward, a superb craftsmen.

No won't go down as a great mate, but a lot better than most . Best since Ben / Eubanks of course. Then we look at some of the Middles that went up a wieght like Chris finnegan, and Kev was no slouch. Contee went up a wieght too. Sibson was a tough fighter. His dad was also a good pigeon man.

Downes was a tough man too.

there still a few names out there ;) but he wont get to many of them until he goes to the states ;)

Yes, but none that he has not fought, and ALL in a sequence of one after one TOP lad WHEN they were / ARE top of the game. Perhaps you know some that I don't.

Not saying he's our best ever, just possibly most deserving and in reality is what ALL boxers should be made to do... Fight the best, and no ducking!

So very many have and do... Mayweather too. They will and do fight as who amd when, and the excuses given which -- I wouldn't say swallow, the public / media let slip by but any person interested in boxing isn't. Yes they too will make a plausible sound of purse lips, but they know the truth... Often Money! Indeed the 'Media' promote and pass truth and replaces with 'Ifs and Whats'.

One must agree that Froh was superb and an devasting force again on Home soil. Bute, a world champ with a 30 unbeaten record ... 24 stoppages, was the 'Smart's Money' choice with a record to prove it. Over 80% of all critics giving Froch no chance of a win.

Frogh tooke some good shots to the chin, but again that showed what a good chin he has got, and certainly a hard puncher to boot, (pardon the pun Bute) which Bute had to succumb to.

Well done Froch, proud of you. I'm proud also that a Brit holds, by 50% more than any other boxer worldwide ever, of fighting the top contender(s) with now 9 in a row. When one considers the Greats, and not so greats that never did anywhere near this, is some record to be proud of.

roland bute is a second rate boxer the only probably top name on his record is joppy who had retired previous only to return to fight 5 people that most never knew of he was way past his best when he fought bute probably why the fight was in canada and not one of the major arenas in the states as the Americans knew it

im not saying froch is a bad boxer but to use the the word great i don't think so

mayweather and froch shouldent even be in the same sentence while i dont like some of his carry on outside of the ring inside the ring hes class cant be hit throws punches from many different angles and wins fights a lot of the time with his head

similar in a way too andre ward who took froch apart watching that fight there was only one great boxer in the ring showing intelligence skill and class ward showed a lot more of these attributes then froch ever has

froch has only one way of thinking and that to move forward in straight lines and is willing to take a slap to give one while if hart and guts made greats he would be a great but greats have more than just that they have what mayweather has andre ward has

im not digging at froch well done he has certain attributes that i like he will be in many exciteing fights with his style but has to add many more and needs to go to the states and win there a few times before he can be called a great

hammed was called a great until he came up against barrera i think it was even he realized the fights the big fights are in the states and was thought a boxing lesson when he came up against a real class fighter

J.a.m. I'm not saying or implying Froch is a Great as such, like the Monzon / Haglers / Robinson / Hearns / Lennards etc. But etc. Indeed he possibly boxing wise would be hard pressed to get in the British top 5, but above Calzaghe etc. of course. Euback / Ben :emoticon-0138-thinking: :emoticon-0138-thinking:

But his record is Great in the fact that he achieved and has better any others run against Top Contenders etc. Now as to whether you, me, or anyone else has doubts, or thoughts as to the abilty of these top contenders is another matter... one that can and has been said in every generation, indeed spere. One can only fight those RATED by the powers to be whether we agree of not. Froch in this respect has done that and more. Hence that is a Great achievement never ben DONE before.
