Guest stb- Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 Does Alan Maul wales not do real well with his direct janseen at the distance .
plumber Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 I'm currently reading the Jannsen book by Ad Schaerlaeckens, very enlightening, most of todays fashionable "strains", eg. Koopmans, Camphus, Vandenbeeles, Hartogs etc all contain blood from original Jannsens direct from Arendonk. IMO These guys were masters in the art of line breeding, the decendants of their birds are still winning all over the world. Schaerlackens is quite clear that the the bros were not interested in making money from the birds and never extended their lofts to house more to sell which could have made them very rich, instead they wanted to keep the majority to race themselves and sold very few in proportion to what they bred.
Guest maricelbill Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 good point that alun's jansens do fairly well is true. they certainly are not sought after as before though.
BLACK W F Posted December 14, 2013 Report Posted December 14, 2013 those are today's birds alan, they're alive mate. their parents are direct janssens from the 90s. what i'm wondering is if the guy went back racing with those same pigeons today would they be successful, or have pigeons gotten faster in 20 yrs. were the janssens a spent force even in the 90s when the parents of the birds i saw during the week were sent over. or are they just as capable of winning. you don't hear of jansens winning today that are that close to the originals. or do you? B'most familys carry janssen blood in them and theres plenty out there winning wi janssens
