Guest grizzler Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 converting a shed into a 18x8 racing loft, also bring in one or two pairs of breeders in and attending a few shows.
pigeonpete Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Well i got alot to do, starting this weekend, putting a new roof on my original loft, as had only 1 pair in it this year, roof rotten!! putting a onduline roof on, and some louvres in, and using for ybs next year, got my new loft coming very soon, so got to do a base for that, splitting them all up this weekend aswell, i will also be training my latebreds throughout the winter months, weather permitting :-)
Wiley Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Got alot to do over the winter, Most importantly get my birds through a good moult. Then i need to build basically a new widowhood shed, by changing the pent roof to an apex, and ripping out the whole of the front of the exsisting widowhood shed, and using polycarbonate sheets in places to attract the sun, and to keep the heat in the shed, as my widowhood loft isnt ideally placed in my garden and doesnt recieve the early morning sunshine. Then ive got to possibly think up plans of insulation in the loft to try and keep the heat in but to keep a constant tempreture of an evening, and is something i will ponder apon over winter months. Also i have this loft organiser that i need to get to grips with and will be attempting to put all my birds and pedigrees of the birds on it. Then also have to ponder apon this seasons pairings, and work out the date i want to pair. Then before we know it blackpool would have come and gone, were id buy in the essentials and meet up with some old friends and hopefully meet some of new. Then it will be more then likely putting my stock pairs together. Then we'd be back to racing lol 30 weeks till racing starts again, you can forget christmas ;D ;D ;D
