daviedoo22 Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Took 24 birds a 10 mile toss today the birds had only been in the sky for about 2 mins when peregrine started stooping,all the doos dropped like stones and landed in a field.I returned home and 45 mins after lib i had 22 return in one batch.Still 1 missing.
john cumming Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 yes davie myself n a mate jim were tossin the birds a couple oh years back n the birds werena 20 seconds released when the bugger struck , doos were diving into the under growth n under hay in the paeks, never seen anything like it, hear a lot oh lads saying theyve had similar experiences with the birds, sign of the times davie im affraid john :animatedpigeons:

Yes Davie, seen them got to ground if they can't find any cover of trees to go into,but only if they are near the ground at the time that they see the Peregrine.
Guest geordiejen Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 must be a natural instinct i suppose.when i had the rollers they used to climb higher and stay above the falcon.ive seen starlings and other small birds follow behind the hawks too.its much better when the crows are nesting because they pester them until they fly off.their is about 10 pairs of crows nesting in a park not too far from where i live but ive also seen the crows attacking yb's on the house roof.
