WelshFlyer
Thanks Andy, Been thinking whether or not its best to have a self kind of platform for the pigeons to land on and go through the trap or whether to have the sputnik with the platform and trap and the small avairy. The though of just having a platform and trap was so i could hinge the platfrom/self so it could close up and act as a cover for the trap? Hope that makes some sence Hi tooshy boy just for my own enjoyment dont plan on racing.
WelshFlyer
The size coop im going for a 4ft long, 2ft wide and 4ft tall, just enough room for a pair and enjoy in my garden. I dont want to over complicate the coop because im no carpenter.
andy Burgess
i think because its for enjoyment only ,something based on or like a small sputnik will be fine . if it were for racing a larger landing area would be better.

GhEtToStar
for enjoyment i would have a large landing area for racing as small as possible
WelshFlyer
for enjoyment i would have a large landing area for racing as small as possible Thanks Ghettostar, Im still in the planning stage haven't actually built the coop yet, im going for the rabbit hutch style coop because i have a small garden and i do have a brick 8ft by 7ft shed but its damp inside and full of rubbish plus i dont want to be inside a loft with the pigeons with the risk of pigeon lung, so by doing the rabbit hutch style it would me being in the open when attending the pigeons. Not sure on overall size of the coop yet only want one big enough for a pair to enjoy them.
GhEtToStar
1 pair will soon turn in to 2 pair i would build it big enough for a couple of pair just incase. You might even end up converting your shed in the end lol you can wear a mask in your loft mate as most of us do.
WelshFlyer
The shed that is there isnt ideal for birds not even safe to be in just moved to my current house, so all rubbish is in there and door is nailed shut for safety reasons. I have room for a smaller loft measuring 4ft long by 3 foot wide and 6ft tall, but again not much room to stand in.
Pompey Mick
My 'trap' on the Widowhood Loft is just a drop down door with bolting wires on the inside which can be lifted up to allow the birds to exit.I use a small release hole like this as I don't want my 16 Cocks to fly out in one group as they have about 3 neighbours washing lines in their take off zone. I can do some closer photos if required.
