had them win in most box positions but must admit most of my good birds have liked the top boxes :)

Yes Adam i had a van reet cock who had the bottom right hand corner box who had won 7 races on widowhood going back in the early 90s, and going back further to the 80s had a busschaert cock on natural who had won i think it was 8 races in the same box, so to me it doesnt matter what box they pick if they are bonded to that box dont try and change them. jmo

if you visit a loft and are asked to pick out the best

birds pick the top boxes and the top perches and you

won't be far away 80% of the time.these are the head strong

Talking about boxes and bonding of a cock to a particular box do people think it a must to let yearling widowhood cocks rear at least one youngster in their box.

I always thought it was a must to allow cocks a youngbird, so that they would bond to the box. However speaking to a friend of mine who's won 6 nationals etc tells me he races the widowhood cocks dry.
