no idea about eyesign ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It is a Voilet Cluster. It will have flown very well up to 450 miles. It has bred some very good winners. Is a must for the stock loft where it will excell and certainly do the buisness. I believe it is a cock bird. If crossed with a Yellow, or Orange eye it has produces the better birds than himself.  A bull eye will throw up a pearl - which can still be studied regards Eyesign. If a Green eyed hen is mated to him, the distance capabilities with improve Also then a great possibility of another 'Cluster'.

Yes the Orange and yellow eys crosses produce Pearl cock birds. However a Yellow eyed hen with be kept and put straight int the stock loft. These mated to a orange may well produce a 'Gold Eye' worth it's wieght in gold. ... Especially bred back into a Cluster, or Violet eye.  - As would any yearling Cluster eyed cock birds.

As for strain I'd be inclined to favour a De Hont or even a Roland Jansenn being crossed into it. Certainly along those lines. Certainly has a slight mixture of Jansenn a few generations back.

You need to take a valium with your whisky, make the effect even better.   ;D ;D ;D ;D   Roland has answered the question in his own inimitable way but I sent him a p.m telling him he has to refine his answer so we can all understand what he's on about and not just me.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Okay guys just like yesterdays fun here's another competition only a little harder, the prize will donate this pigeon to the pigeon basics fund or if they want to keep it for themselves they have to make a donation to the Pigeon Basics.

And the questions are....

What does this eye tell you?

And can you tell the strain of bird from the second picture....

Good luck...

Thanks Jamie nice gesture

Should sell well if sold

Thanks

Ian

Its not the pigeon here on offer, don't know how it posted that way???   I was certain I put up a young one from this bird was on offer.  So just to get it correct the prize is a young bird out of this pigeon, it should still be a cracking donation for the fund.

Well basically I would say breeds and breeds winners. Also with nigh every hen.

I think the De Hont is a little off in retrospect, though the foundations very close. So I'd plumb big time for Roland Jansenns.

So I would venture very much nigh, if not all Roland Jansenns.

But of course, the 'Rce Pen is not where this bird is for. Ones like these only come along every so often. Yes the hardest part is getting the off springs right for them to breed as like. I would venture and wager a fair bit that this bird, a Cock bird has bred umpteen winners, and is the kind to start a loft up even. The over riding factor is sorting out the 'Racers' and them like him, more importantly BREEDING winners.

Can't simplify it any more. A machine that breeds winners, and A Roland Jansenn I'm pretty sure at that.

Never took much stock of that strain, but if it is, then I can see why it is so popular.

o

thought you had won this yb Roland ?? but looks like youve changed your answer a little. andy.

Not changed it at all, just simplified my answer... Only thing changed is that I tend to feel that it is more a Roland Jansenn than a De Hont whereas before I said before it could have been either.

Both have many of the same birds in fore fathers, but mainly because I feel that the De Honts aren't as widely distibuted as the Roland's Jansenn are ... And a great name to boot lol So the more I ponder the more I feel assured it is a Roland Jansenn.

North Wales Novice I believe I have won it. I had a P.m. to that effect from Jargre. It was also asking to simplify what I said. I now think Jargre was referring to the eye and what and how I saw into it.

Said it was scary and made him think about starting to believe in eye sign lol

I miss Albear here as he was well into 'Eye Sign'. Me! Well I just read the great Bob Flemmings writings, and much argumentive writings these apparently were lol. Though I do think the bad blood that seems to inevitably arise on this subject discolours the water. Bob for instance had no time for Bishop, Carney, Vickers and certainly not Kulik. These in didn’t like  so and so, nor did Pobor etc.. No one ever had a good word for Jack Berkly from Sunderland that fled to S. Africa. Indeed none did it would appear did for any other eye sign guru lol. Alan (Albear) rated Carney I know. Indeed I know many that swear by Bill, the dad, and not so much the son. Thus Alan didn't like Flemmings’ calling him etc. So that could again have colour the water a mite. Then Tom Majestica only liked the Belgium birds and their' eyes.... though there is no such thing in Belgium as Eye Sign and they down follow it. Indeed not even a name for it.... But they again will pay a 'Fixer' to come round and mate their' birds!  :-/  Remember now that over 80 years ago the Brits and Belgium’s were at logger heads over this.... though to be fair many Brits also Poo - Hooed it. But the Belgium’s don't look at the eye having no time for it. Indeed Further - which I believe - the eye is the mirror of the soul so to speak. One can tell it's condition health wise and it's mental state etc.

So why you made see a bad bird with a 'Good Eye' it seems that you will never see a good bird with a 'Bad Eye'.

A great read on this is Schaerlaeckens articles, where he states the.... read it lol
