clockman Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 10 classes for showracers and 8 for dipped doos, £2 a doo
b.massey Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Hard life george.... At end of the day how many birds will be in channell class?? Boys got cleaned out snfc this season! The organisers will want there to be 500 birds at least so they cater for the men that will bring birds and fill pens. Racing man turning up with 5-6 birds is all good but won't make show success. As for dipped then that's your opinion on birds but anything good looking is dipped in your eyes! Need to learn its a show! Show is for best looking and best handling birds! I don't see anywhere saying about being for ugly birds but win racing! That's why we do racing in summer. I won a class couple weeks ago and you wrote pm to someone saying dipped doo's win again!! Never even at show but decided to spread it was dipped!!! When it was a bob macdonals jan aarden hen that won. So he must dip too
dms5686 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 all the scottish shows have very few flown classes now because racing fanciers are snubbing the shows because of dipped pigeons you go to any club show in lanarkshire and they are getting enormous entrys of real racing pigeons big shows put on likely to race classes to get 450 for supreme champions class so the solution would be to stop the supreme champions class have only flown classes and show classes no likely classes the entry would drop for a while but eventualy the racing fancier would make there way back to the shows because they are supporting there local shows and over time we would see big shows with real racing pigeons in them again wheres the honour in winning with a dipped pigeon theres a lot of pride in winning a show with a pigeon that has won from the channel

If people want to show what ever kind of bird then let them! Why moan? If the judge picks it because its best looking then thats his opinion. If the judge picks a bird because it has all the qualities of a bird he'd fly national then thats his opinion. It is one mans opinion. But all the moaning about this and moaning about that is totally unfair on the guys who put 100% into there birds. I spent a fortune on birds and it costs me a bomb to feed and compete at shows. When I was at a show the other week with 8 birds I won both classes, took 6 cards. Then when they came with prizemoney I told them to keep it as I was just there for a day out and catch up. Should I be punished because I bought in good looking birds!? Now 3 years of putting best looker to best looker has resulted in a team of great lookers. I enjoy having a loft full of my good lookers. Its a joy to see! So do I pack in because a couple poeple moan?? NOPE I just let them say what they like and move on to next show. But to come on moaning when the guys are trying to start up a show is a disgrace! Let the moaners go to the trouble and expense of having a big show, let them see how much time and effort goes into it. I am happy just to see a big show back in lothians and fife. And I applaude the guys behind getting it back. All the best with the show..... And sadly I wont be there but I hope its supported and becomes annual
square_peg Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 realy glad to see this show back on.,,,most people have know idea the work involved in running a big show,,,i take my hat off to all the folk who run all the shows

tiger Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 if people are showing dipped pigeons in likely to race classes i am well within my rites to moan best of luck with the show mr mcord hope it goes from strength to strentghthen its up two the judge two sort them out
b.massey Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 then its up two the judge two sort them out Exactly..... We ask men to judge and to pick what they like.... No matter what they pick its only there opinion. Would be a boring world if we all picked the same
dms5686 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 then its up two the judge two sort them out wrong its not fair on these exceptional fanciers that are asked to judge at these shows they should be able to enjoy there day out picking what they think is the nicest pigeon if they try to put out the dipped pigeons a realy good looking racer could get left out when it should be the winner the only people in the wrong here are people showing dipped pigeons

dms5686 Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 no ur wrong mate ive done these classes and never gave them a look we will just have to disagree on that point then
Ian McKay Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Been arguing for years they should be entirely different classes with best race pigeon and best show pigeon they should NOT be judged against each other as the show bird will always win cause it's been sitting in the loft all year This way you can all put your birds in and the numbers will rise We should cater for both set's of birds JMO Ian
b.massey Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Yeah I agree Ian.... Should cater for all. Not just certain people. Flown for racers.... likliest for unflown/stock..... and the Show classes for the Show racers. Dont write likliest to win racing or anything just have it as a handling class. Judge picks bird he likes in hand

b.massey Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Shows need support from the Racing lads and Show lads.... Some racing men sadly want it all. They want to race and win in summer then in winter they want to turn up at shows and win again! Dont realise how much time and effort it takes to get the birds in tip top show condition! Just want to shout the old DIPPED shout! Shows are for everyone.... So let people do it and not feel bad when winnin/taking tickets.

square_peg Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 so there should be 3 sections in a show then flown classes show classes and rename the likely to race classes cross breed classes then everyone is gettin the credit for what they are winning lol so what about a stock doo direct from a nat winner thats never been raced, but is a cracker, what class do i put that in???????????????? come on support the show and lets hope it grows into a great yearly event, the classes can get tweaked year on year, but only if we show support
