hi guys as some of you may know im building a corridor along the front of the loft with 3 sections.the front where the birds are will be all dowelled but i have had an idea which would save me money in buying bamboo canes.i can get 100 16-18mm canes at 2 metres long.im going to try that as its only 26 pounds for 100 off ebay.could be a real money saver if it works. :egyptian:

down side is you wont be able to fix them as hollow , instead of using dowel use some tile batton or 2 x 2 , cut into 2 x 1 :)

i was also thinking on using the canes to divide the sections to allow more airflow.is their any drawbacks from the cocks seeing the hens?this loft is not intended for racing just seperate sections to split cocks hens and a section for ybs.i could just put up perches on the sides with a board behind it.

If splitting the sexes for motivation then pointless using a see through wall as the motivation is lost

Electrical cabing conduit is excellent. Although hollow, you can screw through it although it will need support approx. every 600mm. to maintain its rigidity. We sone the same thing in our sections, might post a pic. if I can find one.

Available from Electrical Wholesalers, look for the heavier type, normally available in bundles of 20 x 3M lengths for about £20, thats 100 feet for £25.

Hope this helps.
