see odds have been cut on joey Barton to sign for arsenal :emoticon-0138-thinking:

be a strange move

I do like watching the Arsenal as they play great football but its about time they had a bit of Guile in the team. Only problem with Barton is his reputation precedes him so if the onus is on him to put the Tackles in he'll get all the more red cards.

I Do think he has the ability to play for Arsenal but not the character. jmo.

i like arsenal too but i still think it would be a strange one unless there midfielders leaving of course you would think they would need to get strength in other areas such as goal keeper and center back and even another striker

then again i cant understand why villa want a manager that got there bitter rivals down to division 1 football is a strange game

Rovers step up Cisse bid

Blackburn look to win race for Senegalese ace

http://img.skysports.com/11/05/660x350/PapissDembaCisse_2592044.jpg

Blackburn Rovers have stepped up their interest in Papiss Cisse by making a fresh bid for the striker, skysports.comunderstands.

The Senegalese forward had a sensational season in Germany last year, finishing as second top scorer in the Bundesliga.

The 26-year-old is understood to have been in England this week to hold talks with Rovers as Freiburg accept their star man is set to leave.

But the German club insist that they will not accept anything less than €15million for him.

Rovers lodged a bid back in May, but that is believed to have been half of what Freiburg wanted, now Steve Kean has returned and upped his offer which, if accepted, would break the club's transfer record
