Flyod Mayweather Want To Fight Manny Pacquiao

Yep, I see the 'media' has done a good job lol.

Unforetunately it can - like many great debates - never be proven.

As for never fighting for a title... Were they given him on walk overs? :emoticon-0126-nerd::emoticon-0138-thinking:

Of course not! But beat the best that the Boards merited out.... So they was all class. By the way, Mayweather turned Witter down twice. Yes of course - again - he was confident he'd win.... But wouldn't risk it and the lost money if he was beaten.

That Ghanian a has been :emoticon-0138-thinking: Think you haven't checked his record.

That is news to me mayweather turned him down! but to be honest was there ever a real offer from witter or was it him shouting his mouth off! and another point when does witter get the chance to offer fights to ppl is it not the defending undeafeted pound for pound champ that decides his next move Witter obviously never got himself into to the position of being a mandatory challenger therefore never deserved to fight him! wheras Hatton went to America defeated castillo collazo etc

Unifacation fight!

castillo collazo Who? how old was he, and what was his record.

look at the ease with which Mosley cruised past Collazo

Beating Urango -Castillo-Collazo-Tszyu was achieved by hugging because he could not beat them without holding.

And remember that Castillo had a broken hand from round two onwards!

In your opinion, which fighters spring to mind for blatantly ducking other fighters and who would you rate as the worst 3?

Three examples of ducking I’d give would be…

Lewis vs Bowe

Bowe publicly ditched the belt in the bin because he didn’t want to face the mandatory challenger, which happened to be our Lennox. Likewise Hatton with Witter and Calzaghe with Froch.... Don't blame him lol

Hatton vs Witter enough said.

And the 'Nearly Man' Calzaghe! near fought a body of class, or one breathing, but never did.

Can anyone imagine Duran or Hagler Monzon, Grithiths Both 'Sugars' Hearns, Duran not wanting to give someone a payday? They were bigger men than this - the list is endless. So Witter had to wait till next year then the next and the next and like he stated 'the fact is Hatton wasn't good enough to share the same ring with him. He thought doing his own thing, keep winning and the big fights will fall into place. As WBC Champ, Ring Belt No 2, and unbeaten in 8 years, he already brought plenty to any table in the tough, tough world of professional boxing. Hard luck on Witter (when he wins in a canter,) Don't let the Hatton fans confuse him. It' was his job/prerogative to call out the highest ranked fighters in his division. Which he did, but the media crucfied him. every time he had an opportunity to do this on national television.

It's ok praising Hattons performance against Collazo, fine, as Collazo was no chump, but look at the ease with which Mosley cruised past Collazo, hence compared to other top fighters in the division I'm not sure Hatton cut any mustard. At welterweight I actually think he was quite a weak fighter and just wasn't big enough, there are a ton of guys I'd pick to beat him.

I think if it's ledgers you want to talk about Miguel Cottos last five at that time was far far superior to either hattons or mayweathers.

Regarding the case in hand, should Hatton have fought witter? Why not is what I say, Witters was a good fighter, as good as any other champion in that division, and with his power and awkward style had probably, along with Malignaggi, the best chance of beating Hatton at LWW. that is why they ducked him! Would it be a nice fight to watch? Probably not. Would it be box office? It would sell out the MEN, so as big as box office as any fight that Hattons was ever in I guess. Would Hatton have gone the distance.... no way! But then he knew that, and he certainly does still and hates the memory that 85% of those in the know knew he wasn't the real McCoy and ducked him .... only consolation being he has enough money now, and £MILLIONS he wouldn't have had probably. So he took that to the bank and puts a wad under his pillow every night to help him sleep lol.

Ye canny accuse Paquiao of hand picking his opponents, to my knowledge he hasn't refused a fight in his career and it is him who wants this fight with Mayweather, but the Money man isnae gonna risk his unbeaten status, as he would surely lose this one. The Pacman is the most accurate puncher i've seen since Ali and he can put their lights out, as seen in the above photograph.

I am 100% agree with you m8, that Pacman one of the most accurate puncher. Height dosn't matter to him. Mayweather won't take any chances to knock out Pacman on the 1st round. And if Mayweather not good fast enough to knock out Pacman, he is not tall enough as well not to be reach by Pacman's right hand. ;)

Let's get real here, Hatton manafactured a shot and Witter ducked no one and deserved a shot. Any good champ, especially a class one ducks no one and certainly doesn't shy away from ligit opponent and then use flumsy excuses. the reality is that Witter was a class or two better than Hatton ever was... A bore to watch etc. granted and big mistake was telling it how it was... Hatton was chicken and not good enough to share the same ring.

I remember greats that fought any one... McGowan V Rudkin - who has sadly passed away, Charnley, Another great Scot Ken Buchannon AND Chic Calderwood. Then outside of Cooper who ducked any and everyone look at the Heavies in the 50's and 60's that fought world Class opponents. Richardson V London Erskine etc. Bygreaves who fought the Zola Folly's and Machen and Ingamar Johnhasson etc. Gilroy, Percy Kid lewis... Spinks, then the present crop like Calzaghe who afetr ducking Froch - As Froch sat quietly aside and just stated 'When he's ready I will get it on' etc. and then rather than fight him Calzaghe packed up, without achieving the record he wanted so bad... THEN bad mouths Froch off bigtime after he ducked / bottled it etc. Like Froch said 'I'll donate my purse to any charity he care to name and fight him ... AS DID Witter when Hatton tried to say there wasn't enough money in it for him :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl: Like Witter said Have my purse win or lose... Bottle job I'm afraid.

Not like Pac man who would / will fight ANYone!

Geo, what you and many say and deem is that because Witter was to you and them an boring fighter and not a 'Crowd pleaser' he didn't deserve the merit / credit due and as such distract and belittle his sheer class.

Hatton also used that arguement to shield the realism and truth. I.e. is was far too good for him and would have definately had knocked him out within 5 rounds tops.

Often it it is said 'Too good for their own Good' and in this scenario that was certainly true.

Mind good luck to Hatton and his £millions, he earn them, if one can make a case of the 'Purses' being paid.

Any way this has run it's course as far as I can see, so I think we will have to agree to disagree eh!.
