john cumming Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 i work offshore about 135 miles east of montrose, just wondering how long it is before we see the the lost pigeons start to appear, its a shame as the helicopter companies, bristows, bond and chc helicopters dont allow pigeons in the aircraft now ( to the central field ) so getting the birds to the beach if you catch them is getting more difficult, we now have to ask the skippers of supply and standby vessels if they will take the birds in with them & release on the beach giving them a sporting chance? otherwise im afraid they fly around untill they drop basically, i think our various unions should maybe be lobbying the helicopter companies and try pesuading them to be a little more flexible towards the transporting of pigeons to the beach?? john
cemetary Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 John, If you get your logistics/material manny ti ask them before they go, then get someone from the rig who is going of to make sure they get released when on the beach, thats the only way youll get them aff mate. Havent had problems doing it this way, and have put many back to the beach.
